Co-incidentally I was in a pub last night and a group of chaps were expressing this exact opinion. I didn't get involved in this conversation as my dear wife is fed up to the back teeth of me going on about politics !

Hogwash.
People do not trust Labour with the economy and hopefully enough will not wish to throw away the gains made in the last 5 years.The Conservatives are building a strong economy and it would be criminal if we weren't allowed to finish the job.

At the end of the day the choice at this election is between the competence of a Conservative government or the chaos of Labour propped up by the SNP.

I DO speak to a lot of people whilst out canvassing and whilst they do mention about the EU and immigration they also raise other matters such as the NHS, employment, inflation, living standards, business investment etc etc.

The focus of my discussions is not the "mantra" which you have mentioned but it is relevant .

You're so seamlessly aligned and allied with your party at every step. I can get why people broadly follow an ideology, but it's called politics for a reason. You seem to believe what those in the party say more than they themselves do. The theatrics of it are lost of you. Not that I'm saying viewing things this way isn't useful for the party, but it comes off as a bit sad on a human level. No wonder your wife wants you to put a sock it in .

When discussing the SNP who of course are "Separatists" one has to consider that separation is paramount for them.It's NOT austerity they care about, it's not even 'Trident' it is the breaking up of Britain.The 300 year union between England and Scotland would be in grave danger if the separatists were able to call the shots.

I didn't say you're a sad human being, I'm sure you're not. I just meant politically it's sad and very much towing the line. The same as someone who is perfectly aligned to the libdems or whoever. You believe what they're saying more than they do. When Cameron says that we'll get to where we'll need to be if we stick with him, but if we don't it'll be "chaos", he doesn't actually believe that. He's saying it because it's useful for him to do so. It's hyperbole but you don't appear to recognise that.
