A few months ago I wrote an article for Kings College London's classics journal, which I am the current Editor in chief of.

It's a piece about the antiques in Syria being smuggled to find IS. I wrote it a month or so before CNN an BBC etc focused on it, and before Simon Cox did his shows highlighting it. It's not so current, but thought it might interest some of you.

Also it's exam time at the moment so the site is quite quiet, but there is some interesting writing on classics that we publish on there. If it's something that interests you, keep an eye on Satyrica.co.uk

Compared to the destruction of Nimrud......I'd be interested in your thoughts on that.

Horrendously sad, Apomea as well, it's brutal, but there are good people out there trying their best to save as much as they can. Problem is there isn't much you can do when the local powerful groups decide to bulldoze an area in their control.
