It's been a decent opening weekend so far. Sangakkara is currently on three figures on his debut for Surrey, KP out for just 19. Surrey should walk division two this year. Kent looked to have started poorly yesterday when Essex bowled them out for 193 but Essex are only currently 74-7, crazy. Player of the weekend so far though, Alex Hales, currently 236* against Yorkshire.

Sanga is utter class. I saw him play at the rose bowl about ten years ago for Warks, he was head and shoulders the best bat on view, and probably the best fielder. I think he is also a qualified lawyer... Been following the Kent (my county) game, again Darren Stevens proving that at age 39 he is still the best seamer, and one off the best bats at the club. Kent will need promotion this year or I fear they will be losing the likes of Billings, Bell-Drummond and Riley to div 1 teams. Good for Hales, I did wonder if he might struggle to get into the Notts lineup given their awesome batting order. Agree with your thoughts on Surrey, although their bowling attack looks a bit thin.

How can Surrey be allowing Leicestershire 400+ haha. A season of draws for them, great batting order with a poor attack. Kent could actually win a game today

Hales is off to play for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, which will be a great experience for him. Would imagine Ponting & Tendulkar would have been asked for their option on him, as they are involved in the MI's setup. Seems like he is is highly regarded through the cricketing world, but obviously not with Peter Moores and Eoin Morgan during the work cup!
