cant see this being a goer to be honest.
Firstly its a reputed £10m, our recent transfer policy just wouldn't warrant this, the player is 29, even on a 2 year deal we wouldn't recoup the money. Parish has always said the players we buy will have to have a resale value or be an investment.
secondly if he is truly available then he would be a valid edition to almost all the squads in the premier league. i can see liverpool and spurs very interested.
thirdly , he would be on big money, when he left newcastle he was on fire.
and lastly . he has probably one last decent contract in him. i dont think we could could offer him enough.

I could see a loan deal happening for a year and Pardew could give him first team football which he isnt getting now. but other than id be very surprised

Anything can happen, I won't be paying too much attention until our next match-day sponsor confirms it on Twitter.

According to Talksport the Cabaye talk is genuine - it's us or Villa, his stock has fallen after PSG, likes of Arsenal no longer interested, £10 mil looks like a snip but the wages might be tricky but that's the price of success - if we get a striker of comparable quality then we'll be so good I'll find it hard to believe.

That rumour is taken from this morning's Sun. It's not going to happen. Bullsh*t rumours, someone is having a laugh at our expense, watching us get all excited about nothing. Maybe Arsenal don't want him any more but you can bet your bottom dollar the likes of Liverpool, Spurs etc would.

For £10m on a 3 year deal (if the wages aren't astronomical)I'd say yes.

Sends a clear message to other players that Palace are a team looking to go places, and we are worth signing for as we'll actually be challenging for things.

Wage wise I think this would be a step too far for us at this stage.Maybe in a couple of years.

You`re making me go back to Buckeye Road?

This. 100%.

Or, 99.99995%.

The other 0.00005% probability that we will get him is enough for me to actually get a little bit excited in my pants.

Which makes me pretty sad, I know.

Who is - apart from slobbering fiddle player Nigel Kennedy and the prematurely baldy Prince Willy

This as a move isn't as far fetched and impossible as people seem to think...
