I feel sorry for her and her kids, but him, I have trouble giving a s**t about.

So you have no compassion for a man who has lost his wife and mother of his young children. What a wonderful human being you must be.

Not this man, no, others yes. But then I don't profess to be a wonderful person, are you? Until a week ago, everyone regarded him as a c**t, now that his wife is dead, he's special

Everyone dies, most of the time people don't give a s**t. When you're famous, everyone cares and cries and bemoans the unfairness of it all.

Sham sympathy, for a man reviled by most on here at some point, absolved because his wife suffered. F**k him. I feel sorry for the kids, her parents etc, but not for that wannbe peckham gangster hanger on, with rapist mates, who was lucky to avoid being another Marlon King.

Keep digging your hole Jamie.

When 'jamie' get's tired i'll gladly take a turn on the shovel.

The problem I have with this thread is the title. It should have read ''Rebecca Ellison'', not ''Rio Ferdinands wife''!
This to me is way more disrespectful than some of the posts I've read here regarding Rio.
A lovely lady (by all accounts) passed away and some poor children are now without their mother. Sadly this is also happening as I type/you read this, but will it ever make the news? Do many of you here send your regards every time someone passes away? No, I thought not. Why?.........no real need to answer is there.
Along with some here, I too don't give a f--k about Rio. To those who say this is not the time or place are wrong imo because when in the future would it be brought up? It wouldn't because it's not really on many peoples list of 'things to do' is it, so now is as good a time as any! If he loved his wife that much he'd have never have strayed. End of.

My thoughts are with her children, family and friends x

I don't really agree with the whole 'infidelity' thing, that's between them, maybe it was an open relationship, who knows.

But the key point here, is of course that its all about Rio, and not about Rebecca; a person in her own right, who's entire existence is essentially boiled down to being married to Rio Ferdinand.

You are quite right Jamie. So have some sensivity and don't use this event and this thread as an excuse to knock Rio. It is in fact about a family tragedy that many many people can relate to. Start another thread if you hate Rio.

I am just adding some comments, not because I feel any particular liking for Rio, but because of some of the ignorant postings from people who obviously have no emotional intelligence.
Had the thread been titled Rebecca Ellison it would have been ignored as few people probably recognise the name, just as if I had put on a thread titled Jane Richardson a few months ago when my wife died of breast cancer. By titling it with Rio Ferdinand, or any other famous person, it helps to raise awareness of cancer that may encourage a few people to assist in fund raising etc to try to work towards finding successful treatment or cure.
It is not sham sympathy. Whatever faults he may have had in the past does not detract from what he will go through in the future. No amount of fame or money will help with having to care for young children crying themselves to sleep because mummy isn't around any more. Other family and friends are supportive, but day to day its just you and the kids dealing with day to day situations that can never feel the same again.
Those of us that have lost wives to breast cancer, and several have posted heartfelt thoughts and comments, will realise that in a situation like this there is nothing to gain from macho keyboard posturing. It is more tactful in a situation like this to say nothing about him rather than the needless abuse, and would have allowed this thread to remain, as it was first intended to show respect for a sad loss of life.

This is my point. We unfortunately all lose loved ones that 'nobody has ever heard of' from a multitude of different diseases/accidents etc.
Let's be honest, the fact that a lady who happened to be married to a famous footballer who showed a complete lack of respect for her due to his infidelity was only ever going to ruffle some feathers.
Somebody 'famous' passing away has little effect on exposure to any disease, imo. The real exposure comes from those who witness it, not read about it.

That aside, i'm honestly sorry for your recent loss and anyone who is currently going through similar traumas. Mum's been going through the same for the past 18yrs. Mrs TUX lost her best friend a few years ago after she slipped over. Her 13yr old son became an orphan 5mins later. My twin brother died 30mins after I was born.
Sadly these things happen all the time.

I read Tom R's post.

You are truly bizarre. Every time I post you immediately follow that with a negative post aimed at me. I can only assume this is some kind of man-love that dare not speak its name. Don't worry yourself, you don't need to get my attention, I love you too.

Have to agree with you Jamie, Given his past, how the hell he ramained in the media and acted as a role model baffled me. Sad for his children and her family but feel no sadness for him.

I take it you, Kermit and Jamie feel the same way about Martin Luther King then?

Seriously...Rio ferdinand compared to martin Luther king.

Worlds gone mad.

On Sunday after chelsea beat palace and JT was doing his after match interview, when me & the missus heard terry send his wishes to Rio and family we both just laughed in a very nervous way.

Bet that was just what Rio wanted, wishes from JT.
