Park your car by the station and get the early train from Hayle to St Ives... beautiful scenery out of the train window on the journey there and back. Spend the day in St Ives and get the train back later. It'll be one of the best days you've ever had.

going to cornwall in a few weeks, Trevone Bay, just outside Padstow, absolutely love it, Padstow used to be great a few years back but as earlier poster said all hooray henrys and green wellies now, Rick Stein has murdered the place now, owns half of it and now seems to be branching out further. The Cornish Arms in St Merryn was a blinding typical cornish pub, but Mr Stein has now got his hands on it and it has now lost all its character, agree with another earlier poster, Polperro is what Padstow was 20 years ago and have to agree about the Blue Peter, seriously good ales.

Spent the weekend in Fowey which was pretty darned bloody fantastic. Was sunny mind. If you like yer real ales, genuinely fresh grub, river and other magnificent scenery - walk to Lantic Bay - then it's a 10/10
