I see Duetsche Bank have threatened move to Germany if we do decide to leave the EU on the back of HSBC mulling over the same thing for different reasons.

Whose next? Citigroup? JP Morgan? Morgan Stanley. A lot of these banks base their EMEA HQ's in London. How many will upsticks if we leave the EU?

Wonder if it has any effect on Boris' little Chinatown development over at Royal Albert Dock.

Interesting times ahead.

It's the same people laughing at the AV vote failing that will be crying foul when the powers that be go full throttle to keep us in the EU. Not a chance in hell of us leaving regardless of what any of us think. People are in for a wake up call.

At least we are going to have a chance of getting out. Labour and the Lib Dems would have simply led us further into the entrails of the EU beast.

More bull from the same man..............that promised the same thing..............in a previous election...........and you believe it

I might have agreed with you before the election as he said if he was leading a majority government and after re-negotiations he would hold a referendum. I guess he could stand down as leader and so would not be 'leading' the government and get out of it that way, but seems unlikely.

I think the point is that through one means or another there will be a way of keeping us in. It's a rigged game. Whether that's through going back on a promise, stalling, phrasing the IN-OUT question a certain way, or running a dodgy campaign to get the result they want.

I'm sure all of that is true, but due largely to the efforts of UKIP we have some slim hope of escaping the death-grip of the EU.

Cameron offered the referendum to take votes away from UKIP and to attract anti-EU voters from Labour who would not go as far as voting UKIP, also of course appeasing anti-EU Tory voters at the same time.

There is something to this certainly, but at the same time despite the massive support they received it resulted in almost no seats. Now with a majority, we have to question how scared the tories will be of deflated UKIP voters in future.

Getting this vote out of the way early on, even if it's skewed beyond believe is a canny move. Voters have short memories and if the vote to leave is trounced, combined with UKIPs lack of ability to win seats, I have doubts about how any 'out of the EU' momentum can take hold. The conservatives know all this of course.

I wish there was PR really, even if the result wasn't to my liking. It would better reflect the electorates wishes, and there's a tiny chance that parties who aren't in the pockets of corporate entities or other countries might gain a meaningful foothold.

You will have to remind me of the original promise. Give me a date of something and I will google it and get back to you.
