...will have a "visual artist" on it, apparently.

And the public is being asked to make some suggestions.

Why not put that bald lesbian off the first Big Brother on it and have done with it?

I ask you. A "visual artist". They'll be putting whoever wins 'Britain's Got Talent' on them soon.

If I was in charge - firstly, the plebs would NOT be getting a say, it would be decided, in a wood panelled room, by gentlemen who are qualified to know about such things - and the people on the banknotes would be:

£50 - the Duke of Marlborough
£20 - the Duke of Wellington
£10 - George Monck, 1st Duke of Albemarle
£5 - Cecil Rhodes

We should put missing people on them. That way cashers in shops and banks could spot them when they handover note

£50 Suzie Lamplaugh
£20 Maddie McCann
£10 Martin Allen
£5 Genette Tate

I feel I shouldn't - but I really like this !

Banksy?

Good luck putting his image on it.

It'll be a non-male, non-English person. I'd bet £20 on it.

Optimistic as ever

It was an attempt at a joke actually - clue is in the name.

If we want to reflect the intelligence levels of modern society then perhaps: Joey Essex, Nicole Sh*tsinger, Natalie Bennett and Keith Lemon.

Jimmy Kebe???

Checked with the Bank of England, but apparently the moment you put Jimmy Kebe on a £10 note it halves its value.

Encourages inflation, as people will tend to use it up and wear them out.

50 - Jimmy Savile
20 - Garry Glitter
10 - Rolf Harris
5 - Noel Edmunds.

I'd take that bet, my money would be on Turner, Constable, Blake or William Morris. I think it would be controversial if it was Dante Rossetti or Millius, given there has never been an artist on a banknote, let alone a foreigner or a woman.

Wouldn't rule out a woman, but it'll be a British, likely English, person.

My point was the last bloke on a Bank of England £20 note, was Scottish and then after the fuss about Jane Austen they're bound to want to even up the numbers.

Thatcher?

Whoever it is, surely in this day and age, the time has come for slogans on the dosh too. Could have "support gay marriage" on it?
