Jedinak replacement? Gueye's just under 5 foot 9, not sure if he can boss the air on the same level, although he seems to be pretty strong at tackling. He's also a Senegalese player from Lille - same as Souare. So perhaps he'd settle in a bit quicker.

Pardew seems to like having two more expansive central mids (when he plays Ledley and McArthur), so he'd hopefully fit in. He's also been coined as a Schneiderlin replacement at Soton so must be a decent tackler.

This one now being picked up again by the Mail and therefore BBC:- "Crystal Palace, West Ham and Marseille are in a three-way battle to sign Lille's Senegal midfielder Idrissa Gueye, 25." Could just be re-churning old gossip.
