Well if you ask me I think we have made a mistake... Keep it up Pards and Parish

An object lesson, perhaps, in why no one actually did ask you?

Level 10 c***. I was carrying on the negativity that everyone else was showing towards the signing and turning it around.

I am a bit surprised reading some of the comments on this thread - although at least some of the usual suspects have talked sense.

This is a quality signing, maybe after a season with us we may be in with a sniff, although unlikely. Chelsea see huge potential in this guy, the only reason we have him on loan and haven't signed Remy is because they don't want this guy rotting away on the bench.

My neighbour has a very very senior role at Chelsea (on the medical side), he doesn't like to talk football but occasionally if I catch him in the car park we'll have a chat about his love of cars and I can earn a minute or two of football chat - and this guy is seriously rated in every aspect from fitness to attitude at Chelsea.

I knew there was a reason I stopped posting on here for a few months and now thanks to this thread I realised why.People are so quick to judge, insult anyone who does not agree with them. They do not even read your posts properly before the keyboard warriors start to attack.

It's the loan part of the deal I'm not happy with, not the player, even if he's not proven at premiership level. IMO which means laddo in my opinion I don't think he's ready to be a staring role for Palace. I might well be proved wrong, I hope I am. But yes I would rather spend out on a proven premiership striker.

Doesn't seem to have anything Gayle doesn't have, to be fair. The guy can finish though.

Syd, why follow up what was a very insightful post elsewhere by you on this thread with a manipulative priming attack on another user?

If the smartest and most articulate posters on here are also being some of the most destructive then the hols days are numbered.

George was trying to provide a balanced view point, it may not have read the clearest but either way it didn't warrant your response.

Making the step up is never guaranteed but then Austin may be a one-season wonder so there'd be no more guarantee if we spent 15 million quid on him rather than a loan fee on Bamford. What you can say with confidence is that Bamford has just about every tool you could possibly want in a goalscoring forward; he's fast, powerful, good positional sense, scores with left foot, right foot, and head. He's also skillfull, makes space for himself and success seems to follow him around. Furthermore, the pedigree of Chelsea's previous loan strikers (as others have said; Lukaku, Sturridge) is not exactly open to question. Arguably, a Cisse/Ba/Remy would be more desirable because they're proven quantities but there is very little not to like here and an awful lot to get excited about. As I said earlier, Bamford has "this year's Harry Kane" written all over him. And with Cabaye, Puncheon, Wilf and Yala pulling defenders out of position and leaving space for him to exploit, he might just have a laugh this year. A 20 goal season is far from impossible. Very shrewd signing which leaves money in the kitty for a top centre half. Works for me.

Sh*t post syd, especially for editing out the bits of xGeorgex's post which made it make sense.

One thing for sure, this lads got future football pundit written all over him. I dont think I've ever seen such an assured, confident and comfortable young player like this in front of a camera before

[Link]

My observations:

He calls Mourinho "Jose". Shouldn't it be "Gaffer" or "Boss"?

With the floppy hair and posh accent it's possible he's Hugh Grant's lovechild

Seriously though, Jose's done us a favour I reckon. He must regard PB very highly and sees his long-term future at Chelsea, hence him loaning him out to give him game time and develop him as a player rather than selling him.

Mourinho sent him to his mate Karanka last season, who he knew would look after him and give him the game time he needs. If Boro had gone up no doubt he'd have stayed there to test himself in the prem, the next step in his potential progression to Chelsea's squad. Boro didn't go up so Jose's looking around for another well-run mid-table prem team to loan the boy to. He knows we want Remy but Jose don't want to sell him, so because he's a massive Palace fan he decides to give us Bamford for the season instead.

Cheers Jose, you Palace fanatic
