17 goals for boro in the championship at 21 years old is impressive! I agree he's got a bit of Glenn Murray about him!

A Hopkins Curler. I think it makes sense to make a move for Bamford first, as Remy will only be allowed to move if another top quality striker comes in first

It's slightly harsh to claim people only like this lad because he plays for Chelsea. Pay attention to life outside the prem and you'll see a terrific prospect. Scores all types of goals and can play as a number 9 or a deeper role.

Would I prefer Remy?! Of course. Would I prefer Rhodes, well not exactly. If anything bamford's adaptability would prove more useful. However, if we were to make a move it should be a permanent one. I wouldn't want us to be part of developing a Chelsea player.

Overall, anyone who watches all levels of football, rather than just the prem, can confirm he's a lovely little player and at his age has bags of potential.

I'm assuming your comments re watching football outside the prem is aimed at me ? if so I watch plenty of championship football , it's a great division and in case you hadn't noticed we spend an awful lot of time there as a club , I've seen bamford on about 9 or ten occasions over the last two seasons , the last being his pathetic display in the playoff final. The kid is clearly talented , but he is currently a very good champ player, with potential, parish and pardew have spoken about signing 3 or 4 top ten quality players to improve the first 11 , is bamford a top ten premier league player? No he isn't , he maybe in 2 or 3 years and if we can get him for a reasonable price ,as well as a remy type then yes it would be good , but for the rumored 10 million , not for me atm , he currently isn't an improvement on what we have and the funds are better spent on an upgrade on Murray ,Gayle etc , if we are looking at players from the championship there are players with Better goal records , or who are more suited to our formation who would arguably cost similar amounts.

Very good technique and an intelligent footballer.Very well balanced and can easily go past players. He doesn't believe in NOT celebrating scoring against his former clubs ! He went to school in Nottingham, Chelsea signed him from Nottm Forest and his family are all Nottm Forest fans - and of course he played for Derby !

Not picking on you in particular, but I keep seeing this comment from posters. A loan deal is mutually beneficial.

As for Bamford, haven't a clue as I've never seen him play, so I can't really say whether he's good or not. Unlike 'others' on here, I will not refer to Wiki.

I have seen him play a few times and spoken to people about him so I too don't need to refer to "Wiki".

Signing Bamford as well as a Remy or Austin is fine definitely not instead. Yet to do anything in the Prem, has he even played in the Prem?

Ding ding ding ding.

Exactly why he excites me. What club he's registered at is irrelevant, particularly when he hasn't even played a game in the seniors at Chelsea.

For a start he's a Forest youngster, and I just think he has the attributes and the potential to become a great player. He would be far easier to develop and bring into the fold than Gayle, for instance.

I would be amazed if Chelsea actually want £10 million, and I'd be even more amazed if we paid that too. £5 million and 20% on his sell on would be about right.

We should definitely look at a new player that can start from the first week, like Remy and Austin, but if we can replace say Campbell with Bamford, then that's a massive upgrade. Gayle looks like he's been smashing the gym, so playing as a lone striker might not be beyond him yet. If the price is right, I'm not sure why you wouldn't want Bamford, particularly to bolster the squad alongside an experienced and proven head.

Excellent point, very well made. Could be a great asset, but as everyone is saying, alongside a more experienced striker, like Remy, or even N'Doye from Hull. Austin I think is going to be too expensive

He was carrying a heavy injury in the final. He was played when he shouldn't have been because he's lethal in front of goal.

I watch a lot of Championship football for the same reason as you do but we have polar opposite views on this lad. He's a class act.
