Well if you ask me I think we have made a mistake. We shouldn't have got him on loan we should have signed the boy permanently! This kid is going to suit are game perfectly and we will be sorry to see him leave at the end of the season I think. Keep it up Pards and Parish

On the strength of two other loaned out Chelsea strikers of recent past, sturridge and lukaku,we shouldn't let this player go elsewhere.Know what I mean.

People underwhelmed by Bamford clearly have never seen him play. Trust me, after a season with us you'll be gutted he wasn't a permanent signing. This kid has it all.

Have to be honest, I am disappointed with the reaction. We get cabaye now only Messi will do. This kid was championship player of the year at 21! This time last year Austin hadn't set foot in the Orem either. Seriously, people need to get a grip!

Well said Laddo. I was uncomplimentary about Bamford only a couple of days ago - but having asked around (and, yes, watched some footage) he clearly has an all round forward's skill set to bring to us. I was wrong - he can be a real asset for us this season.

Lad do please don't tell me what I have or have not seen. He did well in the championship there's a reason why Chelsea want him loaned out he ain't up to premiership football or they would have him in there squad. He'll never be a permenant signing so that's that argument out the window.

It has nothing to do with the Cabeye deal. It's his loan I'm not impressed with. If we are potentially trying to improve our squad to try and get us into Europe we need committed players willing to sign for us not other teams cast offs to see if they are good enough or not.

Murray,Gayle and Bamford as strikers I would be happy with that. We have no chance with Remy and the idea of Pato coming to little ole Crystal Palace is just Quackers!

Sensationally ignorant. Did Jack Wilshire get loaned to Bolton because he'd never play for Arsenal? This kid is 21 and won championship player of the year.

The ignorance of some of our fans since we became a premier league club is staggering.

I am only disappointed that we haven't got him permanently. Have you ever considered why Chelsea want to loan him out opposed to selling him?! Is it, err, because Chelsea rate him as having huge potential.

Again, without sounding like a broken record the ignorance is off the scale!

Spot on Laddo. I'm afraid The Premiership brings arrogance and ignorance in abundance. Some fans will never be happy with whatever the club does if we're not continually spending millions and millions.

A brilliant and sensible signing, and once again shows continual club growth and progression. Wasn't that long ago when our summer signing was Stern John.

Well, not how I would put it but blow me, this is the second time tonight I have to agree with you Old Fella. Did we not learn from Lukaku? He will succeed and then with luck we sign him but for a dirty great big fee. At that point he won't be cheap and we will have been responsible for increasing his value. A good job by Chelsea again.

Just had a text from my mate who's a Boro season ticket holder and he says Bamford is first class. He's got no doubt he's Premiership standard.

Hope he's right.

Making the step up is never guaranteed but then Austin may be a one-season wonder so there'd be no more guarantee if we spent 15 million quid on him rather than a loan fee on Bamford. What you can say with confidence is that Bamford has just about every tool you could possibly want in a goalscoring forward; he's fast, powerful, good positional sense, scores with left foot, right foot, and head. He's also skillfull, makes space for himself and success seems to follow him around. Furthermore, the pedigree of Chelsea's previous loan strikers (as others have said; Lukaku, Sturridge) is not exactly open to question. Arguably, a Cisse/Ba/Remy would be more desirable because they're proven quantities but there is very little not to like here and an awful lot to get excited about. As I said earlier, Bamford has "this year's Harry Kane" written all over him. And with Cabaye, Puncheon, Wilf and Yala pulling defenders out of position and leaving space for him to exploit, he might just have a laugh this year. A 20 goal season is far from impossible. Very shrewd signing which leaves money in the kitty for a top centre half. Works for me.

Fantastic signing if true. Seen lots of this lad MK Dons, Derby and Milboro! Classy player scores all kind of goals and is happy to drop deep to get the ball.

my opinion only he will score goals for Palace and will link up play.

Real shame it's not a permanent signing but let's be fair Jose does know a player when he sees one.

Another quality player to add to the squad if it happens

Curly eagles dad, 45 years of Palace. Never ever a dull moment, Oh Happy Days
