The press are reporting nothing suspicious.

Which, for me, set's off MASSIVE alarm bells. I'll trawl the alternative media and let you know when someone's made up something juicy.

Nothing juicy. Just alcoholism. A waste.

I hope you're right - I have an uneasy feeling it may turn out to be something even more self inflicted (lost his father just before the election, lost his seat at the election, and therefore his job of 30 years)

Lib Dem 'Lord Oakeshott' speaking today said he saw Kennedy just before the election campaign and he said he was clearly not well.Don't know the details.

I recall seeing Kennedy on 'Question Time' a couple of months ago and it seemed as though he was somewhat inebriated. One can only speculate as to the cause of his death at this juncture.Very sad for his family and his friends.A tragic loss.

Fear you're right too. Always came across as a decent bloke, despite his quite obvious troubles.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Usually people who retire early have a better outlook, something like 55% of people who retire at 65 are dead by 70.

Very sad - no age these days, a man of great principle as well as his demons - I hope it was not by his own hand.

Was one of the few decent politicians.
