An online league i've managed a team in for around 10 years is currently in need of a few managers to fill vacancies, so I thought i'd see if there's any interest on here. Think of it as a watered down basic version of football manager, but teamsheets are submitted by e-mail and you're playing against real managers in both the UCFL league and inter-league competitions too. Matches are usually played Sunday/Wednesday. Players are fictional. This won't be everybody's cup of tea, but have a look around the site if you're interested and you can always PM me with any questions or just apply online. Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

The forum is part of it, but the menus underneath the UCFL banner at the top will take you to the club pages, league tables, information, allsorts.

I was put in the direction of UCFL some years back via a post on the HOL and I have been playing the game since, well worth a go.

I'll give it a shot. The tactics and formations in UCFL tend to give a pretty good account of themselves. If you play 5 at the back and defensive, you won't get spanked, but you won't really create much either. In UCFL the positions you can assign are GK, DF, DM, MF, AM, FW. There's 6 tactics: Normal, Attacking, Defensive, Passing, Counter, European. Allows for some varied scenarios

How involved is it? I've just had a baby and don't have the time to get fully immersed in a new Football Manager season, but can still away the odd hour or two... Would this suit me do you think?

Definitely. I'd say you need maybe half an hour a week minimum for the basics like submitting teamsheets, but you can do as much as you want really. It's flexible too in that you don't have to be online at any particular time. Games are Sunday/Weds and you just have to have submitted a teamsheet by then.
