Salient information is relevant information. How are these facts about Davies salient to his signing for Palace?

1. That as a boy he was a useful stand off in union?
2. That he used to keep wicket?
3. That he speaks Welsh?
4. That his mum and dad support their local team?

Unless you think Sarries are moving into Selhurst and Davies is up for a bit of multi-tasking, Pards is starting pre-season training with a few cricket sessions in order to enhance selection, all future team meetings will be held in Welsh, and Davies' mum and dad are being engaged to lecture the HoF on supporter behaviour, I'd say they're not salient at all. Not even remotely.
