I assume this poor soul was in receipt of benefits, who have helped to fund this lifestyle.

Should have been allocated a personal trainer, who together with appropriate dietary help, could still be with us today and leading a more fulfilling life.

I bet he was allocated help but like a lot of these type of people they make excuses up to not use the help.

Seen this all before with obese people they do not want to put the effort in to drop the weight but happily keep eating then moan about it blaming others.

People need to take responsibility for their own actions.

The muppet who compared this to anorexics clearly knows nothing about health issues.

The muppet who composed this sentence clearly knows nothing about eating disorders/mental health issues.
I was comparing the polar opposites of a condition. Which this is.

I suppose working in mental health services for over 8 years has taught me nothing then so I might as well just burn my degree certificate thank you for teaching me in just a few posts what I had not learnt in years.

You do not happen to be over weight by any chance?

All I referred to was the 'full spectrum that encompasses weight issues' but you chose to call me a 'muppet' for stating the obvious for some reason. Why do that as a 'professional'?
With your qualifications I would've expected better tbh but that said, with schooling being what it has been for many years........I can't say that i'm surprised.
You could do with lessons from Mrs TUX. She has over 30yrs of experience, does it right, and just laughed at your initial post. I believe her word was 'f***wit'.

As for me as your interested. I'm 5'8 and 90kg.

Mrs Tux has worked in mental health for 30 years or just been mental for 30 years lol

70% of the patients I deal with are over weight/obese and out of 50% they all use the same old excuses.

A lot of them do have problems with depression but they do not want to make changes to help with that and really we are to nice to these people not telling them how it really is which is enabling these people even more (obese people get treated a lot better then people that are under weight)

90kg at 5.8 is over weight so i was correct.

Mrs TUX is 44.
Her eldest brother (sadly no longer with us but he defied the odds and lived into his early 30's) was born with many disabilities.
This childhood led Mrs TUX into the career that she has chosen for over 25yrs.

Then along trots a prick like you spouting your stuff because you have 8 yrs experience? The truth is you have no 'stuff' to spout. You haven't got a f'kin clue as you first post showed.

For the record, I have a 46'' chest and 32'' waist. Overweight according to a graph.

Rather than giving him carers and benefits to gorge on, wouldn't it have been prudent to make him get help?

if you are genuinely that qualified and spout that guff then I despair.

probably 90-95% of the can and should take responsibility* for their actions even if suffering from a a mental illness. However by definition there are a substantial amount of people who can't, whether temporarily or otherwise.

Overeating to the degree this man did IS NOT just being greedy. He had issues, they weren't addressed and he ended up dead.

That is very different from a society that buys, eats and throws away far more food than is necessary. Usually resulting in people being overweight / fat.

Are too many people fat? Yes
Do too many blame it on their Genes /hormones/ big bones? Yes
Should more people take responsibility for their health? Yes

But that is very different from what happened here

I would be very surprised if someone could achieve that kind of weight gain by that age, without some kind of disorder, most likely physiological. To be 60 stone in your thirties is a such as statistical abnormal achievement. Its really either a superheroic deliberate effort, or some kind of disorder.

Kind of like how some people are thin and can then put on weight as needed, and other people have an eating disorder.

Sure, someone who's overweight, but this such an extreme case, that it would be absurd to apply 'normal rules' to it, as its clearly a statistical outlier of abnormality.
