I may have just found an example where socialism is actually bettering the lives of the many rather than unintentionally worsening lives.

What do you think?

That's not socialism, that Anarchism. I like it. Personally I don't think socialism really makes peoples lives worse here, arguably things like welfare, disability living allowance and the NHS serve to cushion the impact of capitalism and post-industrialism.

I doubt its Anarchism.....A major may be powerful within his area but he still has to work within and under the state.

It can be argued that socialism drives away external investment.
That its higher taxes upon the more wealthy drive them away from the tax system completely.

That's why the poor always end up paying for the mistakes of state.....Because they can't leave, take their stuff and get out.

Actually it's closer to true communism than socialism. But I bet the mayor gets more than the labourers! So maybe it's more like a feudal system. Anyway, it certainly isn't anarchism. A very structured society, as this is, is almost a polar opposite of anarchism.

I think it depends on the nation in question. Certainly across Europe the adoption of socialist policies hasn't really resulted in a lack of investment or external investment. In extremis, I think you have a valid point, where it becomes economically very preferable to move away, but where the additional taxation levels aren't dramatic, people prefer to stay closer to home.

Disagree with the second paragraph entirely, capitalism in pre-socialist periods in no way empowered or prevented poverty, indeed the poverty engendered by capitalist exploition, notably of the industrial era, resulted in the formation and establishment of socialism.

Socialist theory, Marxism, communism etc occurred as a criticism and critic of Capitalism's excesses and exploitations.

Absolutely it is.

The definition of Anarchy is not 'without rules' but 'without rulers'...and it would f***ing work

In the developed world at any rate there isn't socialism or capitalism in their truest form - Both have lurched towards corporatism and an enslavement to business - usually in the West, its the financial business.

You can't have rules without rulers......It's a contradiction.
