Is anyone getting involved in this tomorrow?

My local in swanscombe has a massive party all day long, with BBQ, live music, raffle etc. Loads of us dress up in military uniforms and raise money for the "help for heroes" charity.

If anyone is in the area, pop in and say high (and buy some raffle tickets ).

I saw this in the papers the other day. The tourist should thank his lucky stars the soldier showed such great restraint. The way the world is at present it shows how well trained the soldier is that he didn't do something far worse.

They are there to defend the Queen and the residence. If a tourist is being a nuisance it is reasonable for a guardsman to do what he did there. If that doesn't work he's allowed to detain the fool using force if need be.

One of these days there is going to be an almighty punch up.....And as long as he gave prior warning like here the soldier should be backed up.

They aren't there for tourist amusement.

The ones in Whitehall are in fairness and a damned fine job they do too. Constant crowds and they must be photographed many many hundreds of times a day.

I think these days it is even more problematic because of things such as the murder of Lee Rigby. For all the soldier could have known the tourist may have been a terrorist and could have been carrying a knife.

They were there doing that job before they became a tourist attraction.....So no they aren't.

Blows raspberry.
