Both huge gambles but Mario is very good and would be a great loan.

I don't care much about his attitude but it's his ability that I question. Is he that good. Missed chance after chance for Liverpool. We need someone who can put the ball in the back of the net, not row z

No thanks, the blokes poison. He makes Adebayors attitude look like Gary Linekers.

Funny thing is I think I'd opt for Adebayor over Balotelli if I had to pick..

On his day he's as good as anyone. The problem would be getting him motivated. I think Pardew would a be better manager for him than Rogers. If this were a possibility and no one else comparable was avaliable we'd be mad to say no.

I think we should should be competing with any strikers West Ham are looking at at the moment.

He wasn't a success at Liverpool but he's done well at Man City and it would only be a loan

why on earth would AP even think about it.

Not a comment on Balotelli or any proposed deal but an answer to your question: Because every single manager on earth, regardless of industry, believes he is the man to get the best out of a wayward but highly talented employee. That's what management is all about and how reputations are made. You know the guy could be a million-dollar player. You back yourself as the man to make it happen. (This is NOT to say Pards, or we, want Balotelli. It's purely to answer your question.)

Given that we are a pretty risk adverse club, I would say that signing Balotelli is a total non-starter

The real issue with Balotelli -- who actually seems like a really nice guy as well being hugely talented -- is that his head doesn't seem to be in football. So far as I can tell, he has no real love of or commitment to the game; he's just outstanding at playing it. Thus, he quickly loses interest. This is the I wouldn't sign him, I think ambivalence is something you really can't turn around. Adebayor's issues are much more addressable.

I don't care who we get in during this window so long as we get three reasonably quick wins and nine points on the scoreboard. Once that is achieved and our Premiership place is guaranteed we can spend the rest of the season speculating on who will be in the team next season.

That was Rogers' problem, his ego got in the way of spotting a spoiler.
