The only thing I would cling to if he did (amazingly) sign is that he would be a big fish in a small pond with a very strong support. This is something he hasn't had before. Maybe if he felt he was integral then he might try harder? A bit like working for a small shop rather than a corporation (ie a small shop you know if you don't work hard it goes to pot, but in a big corporation someone else can get your back). But if he does sign we need to remove all fireworks from the area.

Quote Percy of Peckham at 18 Jan 2016 8.17am

I don't care who we get in during this window so long as we get three reasonably quick wins and nine points on the scoreboard. Once that is achieved and our Premiership place is guaranteed we can spend the rest of the season speculating on who will be in the team next season.

I, like most of us; wasn't thinking this a month ago; but now, these are precisely my sentiments.

Been thinking this from the start of the season, we are on course so should be ok by the end

No thanks, arrogant tw&t...now Lee Gregory of Millwall has scored nearly 30 goals this season i would be more happy in getting someone who knows how to score

Proven international/EPL goalscorer vs a proven League 1 scorer ? Difficult one that. In fact neither will be coming to Palace. Gayle is already a proven goalscorer in the Championship and we won't meet Balotelli's wage demands which would make Ade's look like peanuts. Personally, like I thought last season, we should be looking abroad in places like Scandanavia, Holland, France, Spain, Belgium, Russia etc. for an in form, youngish proven finisher.

My concern is that it looks like Mutch, McCarthy and Lee could all already be leaving, Pards signings. When you also put in Cabaye, Sako, Wickham our recent transfer activity hasn't been all that great. Nobody has really shined like Dann and JMac. Admittedly there is a bedding in time but next season some of these have to hit the ground running.
