Speed improvements to this site

I've been doing some optimising of this grand old website this evening to try and improve how fast pages appear. This is a visual comparison to how fast the homepage of the site took to load before and after my optimisations on a slow 3G connection. I'll be interested to know if people have noticed a faster loading experience of pages. P.S. The code for this website is as old as 2002 in some places, and we are working on producing a new version of the site which will be responsive etc, optimised for mobile screens

Mine definitely loads faster - shame about the Diary though - no more Birthday threads. Great work!
A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers |

Not sure about speed, but trying to read the Popovic topic in PT in an iPhone and 4 times it pushed me to the app store to download Ladbrokes, William Hill, some Titan game and another! Gave up in the end 😔 Edited by OurKid85 (16 Jul 2015 10.58pm)

I took this thread title too literally I am afraid. I took enormous amounts of speed then went into Transfer Talk - it didn't improve it at all, in fact quite the opposite
