I was pretty ambivalent about this when the rumour did the rounds at the start of the season but I'm told that with the last three months under his belt, he is now back to full fitness and performing near his best which, if true, obviously makes him a very good player. On that basis, he would add something. Not my first choice but not someone who I'd be unhappy about either.

He's got the hardest working agent in football and has been linked with 90% of the league in the last 12 months. Decent scoring record but seems to have been shunted out of every club he's played for which would suggest attitude problems perhaps. Still, having a striker with 27 caps for Brazil playing for Palace would be something I never thought I'd see.

Was just about to say this. The transfer window is a game of dominoes. One falls and the next one comes into play. This may be the deal that we've been waiting for to free up Remy, and why we've been holding out on Adebayor and others. Who knows if we can get Remy but if we can and we can get Gomis in exchange for Gayle, I wouldn't be that surprised if both came in. Remy and Gomis would certainly give Campbell a stiff challenge for his shirt :-)
