A good friend of mine is a HGV driver and regularly goes to the continent. He always has problems in the port of Calais with the chippy illegals now wielding baseball bats, knives and threatening lorry drivers. When the hell is something going to be done about this? As Angela Merkel said, they can't all come here (I'd be happy if none of them came personally).
Why do we even want people like this here? The whole infastructure of the country is creaking under the weight of this population explosion. It started under Labour when they abandoned the borders, the Tories said they were going to sort it out but there seems to be no stemming the flow. Just where is all this madness going to end? We have eastern Europeans living in public toilets, Roma gypsies using a memorial for the 7/7 victims as a clothes line.
Controlled immigration is fine but this is utter chaos! How do we know anything about the people who are streaming in by the thousands?

According to some on the left we have plenty of room.

Lets not forget that a small percentage of this lot will be Islamic State sleepers.....Probably here already.

A classic case of political anatomy.

Politicians have ears of different sizes.
The elephant sized ear listens to the Eurocrats, while the shrew sized ear listens to the British populous.

Or would do if it was not trained to be deaf.

They've come a long way to get as far as Calais. How is it so few of them get picked up en route?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

This is my concern exactly. We can't have any idea about the people who are coming here as it's absolutely uncontrolled chaos.

The European gravy train beckons for all politicians so they listen to them but not us. It's very true what yo say.

That's right. The problem is that most of them come through southern Europe ie Italy, Greece etc and they palm them off to northern Europe and France palm them off onto us. None of the other EU countries take immigrants on the scale that we do.

The whole soft approach makes my blood boil. Successive governments seemingly do nothing about it. In Leicester we have s law abiding Asian community who contribute positively yet the Eastern European minority in the east part of the city that are a pain in the backside. Just shut the damn tunnel for a week and sort it out!

Somebody needs to take a hardline approach to this problem because we simply can't go on the way we are. Like you say, some contribute positively but some are an absolute nightmare. My friend has a house that he rents out. It was empty for a couple of months and one day he went to check on it only to find that a group of Romanians had broken in and were squatting there. The Eastern Europeans do seem to be the worst from my experiences. No government has really taken the bull by the horns and sorted the whole dam problem.

To be fair, I think both Italy, Spain and Greece have a lot more than us.

What about those already here?
Our own Govt cause far more ''chaos'' regardless of which colour they sport yet you're more worried about a few immigrants hitching a ride on the axle of a lorry for some reason?

Time to move forward together.

The problem is that they are all camped in Calais waiting to come over, and it ain't a few either is it? What do you think this operation Stack has been about for the past few months? Before we address the issue of the ones already here we need to stop more flowing in, then once that's done they should round up the ones here and get shut, no appeals or human rights b0ll0x.
