The world's population is predicted to increase by 7 billion by 2050. Anyone who thinks our own UK pop should/will remain pretty static in the face of that is not living in this particular fair land but more in cloud-cuckoo.

We will have ten or 15 million or more extra by then whether we like it or not. Some will be migrants.

The only other solution is to become a closed society a la North Korea which is what people like Leggedstruggle seem to want. Extremism like that should be avoided. I don't want to have to call him 'Dear Grandpapa Leader'

Forecasts from the Office for National Statistics suggest that immigration will add a city almost the size of Birmingham to our population every two-and-a-half years for the next 75 years.

Current levels of immigration are unprecedented. We recently received more immigrants than in the whole of our history – we now have 1.8 million people here who were born in another European country.

Yet you will keep telling us there is no problem and in fact it is actually beneficial. If, so why don't you propose even more immigration and the lifting of the meagre 'controls' that exist?

You clearly don't read and assimilate what is actually written.

You also have tunnel vision which allows only your ingrained prejudices to cloud your analysis.

As just one example, you place weight on us having 1.8 million people living here born in another European country. You ignore that we also have about 5.5 million people born here who have moved to other countries. To raise the one without the other makes a nonsense of any analysis.

Usual abuse from you without answering the questions. I couldn't care less about how many people have moved to other countries, I am concerned about this country.

So we have to become North Korea to limit migrant numbers do we ? What a, frankly, ridiculous remark.

It is by employing national borders that we have the world we have. Do you wish to have no borders ? To me no borders must ultimately mean world government dominated by world commerce. How do you fancy your precious human rights in that scenario ?
To finance a country there has to be taxation an a restriction on those using the infrastructure, otherwise it will collapse. All those people who are telling you that multi culture and growing numbers is a good thing are clearly thinking about profit. Show me somewhere in the world where overcrowding leads to better quality of life for anyone. We still have green fields but our infrastructure is creaking and the man on the street is seeing his income remaining static while he pays thousands of pounds to money lenders which reduces his spending power.
We are walking into a future nightmare where society is fragmented, people earn less and national security is a tool for the industrial military complex to frighten us.

you heard it here.

That's all very well but at least you seem to realise the population increase here over the next 35 years of the possible 15million is pretty much inevitable in the face of the 7 billion extra predicted beyond our borders.

As such, what are we all arguing about? It can't be stopped. Unless we elect dear leggedstruggle.

Population increase globally is inevitable but the population increase in Europe is all about migration. Reduce migration and we won't have a problem.
It is because a large chunk of the World has had too many children which they or their countries economies cannot support and their countries are also run in many cases by people who would struggle to change a light bulb, that the world and his dog want to come here where we have a well run society. We will be over run by religious loons with 10 children each if we are not careful.
To some of course, this would be great. An endless supply of consumers, many on minimum wage or less and extremely gullible and easily lead to boot.

The Comrades seem to have given up on the line that uncontrolled immigration is wholly beneficial and not a problem - now they are reduced to calling it 'inevitable'.

A population rise is inevitable for the simple reason that migrants do not just breed(although ill forgive them that) they also bring dependent relatives.
