Corbyn and the left of the Labour party do have some popular policies.

Re-nationalization of at least the Railways is popular.....Mainly because the Tories really fecked the whole system up.

But ideas like supporting unilateral nuclear disarmament and blanket support of the EU.....Well, really....they have no real chance with anyone other than their core support.

Still.....At least the Labour party will be an honest reflection of the views of their support base.

Unlike the Tory leadership.....Who mainly hold their nose.

Corbyn unelectable? Well he is resonating with Londoners.

[Link]

A few have posted on here that Corbyn would be a very unpopular choice. I'll send them the recipe for humble pie in a few months when Corbynhas proved to be a more than able opposition leader.

Resonating with 'Londoners', I wonder why.

Because sadly London has become a multi culti hell hole and home of the liberal elite.

Do you think Corbyn is part of the 'liberal elite' (which if truth be told is just a made up label for an imaginary group for people to target their bile at)

Absolutely he is, he has all the characteristics: politically correct, politically naive and gullible, as well as being bearded, vegetarian and tetotal.

Elite means among the best or part of a pantheon.
You hold him in high regard then.

You think elites are always held in high regard? Having Corbyn in charge would be like having Neil from The Young Ones.

How. What economic arguments do you have against what Corbyn is proposing.

Challenge: you are not allowed to use '1970's' in your answer

You know Nick, I would actually support the renationalisation of gas, water and electricity and perhaps the railways. Even though they would no doubt be more inefficient and overstaffed, the current price hiking cartels are unacceptable. But as with the NHS we would need to try to run them on a more business like basis and not just endlessly sink money into them. How we would achieve that is problematic.

My real problem with Corbyn is the rest of the new left baggage, the support of Irish and Palestinian terrorists, appeasement of Islamic extremism, unlimited immigration (although I believe he is Euro-sceptic - but that probably means he would leave the EU but still allow the entire population of any country to come here if they want), unilateral disarmament.

His anti-austerity stance is also a worry, his policy seems to be to simply ignore our debts. Whoever we blame for the financial situation it has to be faced and sorted out.

I am enjoying the Corbyn 'bulls*** bingo'. Every article and interview is saturated in buzz words and jargon. The pick of the crop are 'principled', 'compassion' and 'neo-liberal'. I am waiting for Richard Murphy to say 'we believe in wiping our arseholes from back to front, anyone who wipes from front to back is neo-liberal and lacks a compassionate and a principled approach to arsehole wiping', in order that the trinity of top bulls*** is achieved in one fell swoop.

Boris? Bicycle-helmet-wearing, diversity celebrant, paid up member of the new political establishment and, like the rest of them, in a London world of their own, while the rest of the country looks on aghast.

Actually everything coming from him is policies, policies, policies. Haven't seen that from a politician in my lifetime.
