What are the main ways in which Labour have "shafted" the working man?

By abandoning him. Just to think that this was Labour's core vote around 20 years ago, but now Labour holds the white working class in contempt. Diversity is Labour's number one policy, importing hundreds of thousands of people who would be greatful, and creating a welfare system that would pay people to stay at home-work does not pay anymore.
To Labour the white working class are all closet racists, an inconvenience, all swivel eyed BNP supporters who will sometimes vote Tory or UKIP now. I don't expect you to agree or even see.

Thanks for a very up front answer. No,I get it,Your view is that labour have betrayed the working man by supporting the welfare state and having "diversity" as their number one priority.

Interesting.

The Labour Party is full of people like you these days - the working class have jumped ship long ago.

How long did it take you to think of the additional racist insult of inserting the word 'white'?

About as long as it took to recall Derben's preference for not having people of a different race living near him

The one thing about Corbyn is he is interesting, and not many politicians can boast that.

Interesting in the same way as ebola is interesting.

I would like a leader to the left of Yvette Cooper or Liz Kendall. But Jeremy Corbyn's politics hasn't changed since the 80s and Andy Burnham's has every year since the late 90s. If either of the blokes win this leadership election, Labour are f***ed.

I'd love Corbyn to get control of the labour party, only the clinically diagnosed turbo nutter f***tards of the UK would vote for labour with him at helm, I will conceed he'd probably get a few votes from some of our palace brothers on here, but then again I would refer to my previous statement.

Amusing how worried the right are getting now it looks like he might get in

You need to review your definition of the word worried.

Not at all. While the right-wing was initally filled with glee at the prospect of a Corbyn victory they have now begun to panic as it seems jc is very popular with the public. Now, weather you think that that is because he is selling them pie in the sky or because he presents a viable alternative to austerity is beside the point, he is very popular with joe public. In a scenario where he was leader the debate about if austerity is needed would be back on the table and this is what the tories don't want. They were overjoyed with labours acceptance of austerity as essential because it allowed the centreground to be moved to the right where the tories are confident that they have the upper hand. Moving the whole debate back to the left and shifting the centre ground is not what the tories want, especially when come the next GE cameron will have been in power and making cuts for a number of years. Again, regardless if you think that austerity is essential or not it is clear that the tories would rather go into the next election fighting a party that has already accepted the cuts as unavoidable. Thus the media has progressed from amusement at the prospect of a jc victory to outright panic. Will this help or hinder jc's campaign? We shall see.......

No they haven't. Why would anyone "panic" over a party leadership vote? One that's being dragged out to death i might add. Just do it in a crappy office on youtube like the lib dems did.

You mean disillusioned Labour voters. They are not collectively "the public".

Corbyn will not be leader, let alone leader at the next GE, IMO.

Optimistic as ever

The voice of common sense as usual, Stu.

Labour are crucifying themselves with this massively drawn-out contest. They constantly bang on about wanting to "have a debate" and "listen to the electorate" but all it amounts to is suicidal infighting while the Tories shift the goalposts in their own favour. Last time the Tories convinced half the electorate it was Labour's fault we had a deficit. Now they're portraying Labour as the party of welfare scroungers.

The "debate" is like a 1980s throwback. Corbyn wanting to bring back an elected shadow cabinet is Tony Benn (in whose ideal world we would all spend weekday evenings in draughty school classrooms voting on what day the bins should be taken out) and the 1981 Campaign for Labour Party Democracy all over again. There was even a bloke on radio 4 yesterday talking about "People's QE" (ie, printing money and giving it to local governments and a Green Investment Bank, who clearly know how to spend it wisely) which is like something out of the 1970s!

Even if Corbyn does win (I doubt he will and suspect the media are hyping it up) he'll be ousted before the next election.

Meanwhile, the Tories are getting away with all kinds of empty, populist nonsense (eg, this ridiculous landlord immigrant fig-leaf) while Labour sit around navel-gazing. Poor effort all round.

Jeremy Corbyn will reveal in a speech today his intention to rename Birmingham as the Islamic Borough of England: “People are tired of politicians not listening to their needs, I recognise that. So I’m going to give the people of Birmingham exactly what they want and give it a name more fitting of its populous as 93% are now Muslim.” However, Palace fan, Cucking Funt, was not keen on the idea, insisting it should be renamed the Islamic Borough of Great Britain instead of England to be more inclusive of the surrounding countries in the British Isles.
