I can't find the old thread but, when will they decide there's more than enough reason to now press some criminal charges?

Both the driver and the council have lied and are incompetent, resulting in 6 deaths and a load more life changing injuries.

Like all enquires it seems to take an age for someoe to stand up and make a decision. My guess is the council are in for a pasting with the compensation payments, and rightly so to.

They made the decision before the inquiry even commenced.

The driver didn't disclose his, very patchy, driving history and tendancy to black out. The council didn't get a reference for him.

Why would a man that has history of blacking out get behind the wheel of a Dust Cart? Selfish b****** and he should do time for the deaths. Minimum 10 years in my book. Wasn't an accident, He was aware it could happen and took the risk.

Because he had less passengers than when he was a bus driver. I reckon that was his logic anyway.

Has to be at least corporate manslaughter I'd have thought, as far as the council are concerned (unless it was a third party subcontractor). As for the driver, causing death by dangerous driving at the least

The necessity of earning a living, either way its a very negligent decision, as he should have been medically pensioned off as a bus driver

Why does his health become a millstone around the neck for the bus company? Who he also lied to.

You can't do the job, go and get a new one rather than an early pension.

Jamie, fully appreciate your 'support of the downtrodden masses' approach to life but really, what sort of human would take a job in their right mind if they knew they could kill people because of a medical matter?

He shouldn't be doing that job and he shouldn't have put himself forward for that job. Simple as.

I don't think people tend to think that way, they manage to justify all kinds of things to themselves. The company should, if they knew, have reported him to the DVLA, the council should have checked his references and previous employer and he should have surrendered his licence with DVLA and followed the medical procedure for regaining it.

The responsibilities of other parties is to act as the fail safe because you cannot trust people to do the right thing.
