What a sad state of affairs it is that Britain is not willing to help out the people that they were partially responsible for displacing in the first place, citing the invasion of iraq as (my words here) opening a pandora's box in the region I didn't vote for Blair. So the breaking news is that the UK will be taking people from safe UNHCR camps around Europe because someone who'd been in Turkey for 3 years paid several thousand Euros to take their family to Canada on a dangerous boat. No wonder you've got to rewind to our part in the destabilisation of the area to be able to rationalise it. I'm not going to oppose Cameron's decision. I love all the hand wringing. Support the immigrants or you are a fascist. Good on you. I am marrying an immigrant - Kermit, Jamie, Gusset - have you made that commitment? Or are you merely telling us how to be because it makes you feel better? If you haven't, please tell me what you have done to assist the 'cause'. Looking forward to it.
