And you have a complete lack of respect for that poor little boy by re posting a picture of his lifeless body.
Taking pictures of dead people is fcuking wrong.

It's a difficult and emotive topic, but something had to be done and thankfully the photographer had the balls to realise her image might change things. [Link] Hopefully such images, as disturbing as they are, might shake some of the racists and bigots out of their comfort zones.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

There is a callous attitude displayed by some on here towards those in need that weren't born here. I don't think censoring grim realities particularly helps that.

I love all the hand wringing. Support the immigrants or you are a fascist. Good on you.

I am marrying an immigrant - Kermit, Jamie, Gusset - have you made that commitment? Or are you merely telling us how to be because it makes you feel better?

If you haven't, please tell me what you have done to assist the 'cause'.

Looking forward to it.

A spat my tea out reading this.

What has Cameron actually done?!!!! Telling the EU that we aren't going to help isn't doing anything!

Sending a British warship to pick up floating migrants and land them in southern European EU states is absurd - it just hands the problem to someone else.

What is the UK's long-term policy on immigration and how does it stack up in the current crisis? I suspect the only way to change the current situation is to leave Europe and regain control of our borders.

It's possibly the hottest potato in the forthcoming referendum debate but who's going to be brave enough to stand up and discuss it rationally?

I'll respect Cameron if he does but somehow I have a strong feeling that he won't tackle it head on or offer any long-term solutions.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt!

It's an interesting time. I do think we have certain obligations towards those in need and they are made much more difficult by total free movement within the EU. I can imagine others thinking along these lines too before they vote.

Women don't have balls. And this woman must have no children, because the lack of respect she showed that boy is the most shocking thing about that picture. It's wrong on too many levels.
People DO NOT need to see a picture of a dead child to realise children are dying, everyday.
The same as you should not need to see a picture of a child being abused to realise that there are children who get abused.
I'm not exactly sure what you think racists and bigots has to do with all this.
Seriously, mate, if you think people should take pictures of dead children, so other people can look at them..... Hang your head in shame, you sick, sick person.

Its a very difficult situation, that, in my humble opinion can only be solved at its source, but as that region of the world has been in conflict for what seems like forever we can not hope to find a soloution any time soon. Images of dead/dying kids invoke a sudden response in people and rightly so (vietnam, african famine etc), but refugees have always died trying to find safety so i find it a bit strange that it has only happened now. Bit rambling i know but still trying to think rationally about this taking emotion out of it.

The picture of that little boy unset me considerably, despite the knowledge that I and anyone opposed to completely unrealistic immigration provision had nothing to do with that child's death.

That child's death was all to do with the stupidity and recklessness of the boy's father.

It is frankly disgusting but typical of certain people to suggest otherwise.

The west owns no one a house and a job....We can't even house our own. The point of a state is to look after its own.....Not others.

Help is reasonable, and we are already correctly contributing to providing to this crises by providing UN funds that are feeding and housing people.

We should take what our government considers reasonable asylum.

What Germany thinks....matters nothing......They and Sweden are partly responsble for this mad dash in the first place.

Let them take them.

This picture has undeniably resulted in a change in tone of how this crisis is reported, even in the right wing rags. It's also no doubt contributed to the decision to take more refugees in. So there's that.

Anyone who takes decisions based upon pictures shouldn't be in a job that involves any responsibility.

The tone of how it's reported has sunk to a woman thinking it's ok to photograph a dead child. And people being encouraged to view that image, as it gets shared around the world.
It's wrong/sick.

The fact that there are more refugees, and countries being forced to act like they 'care', means more refugees are being taken in.
