Given the HOL is a mine of knowledge, I am sure all you aficionados can point me in the direction of the coolest bands to see this weekend. So far Gogo Penguin, Sons of Kemet and Adriano Adewale look interesting.

Thanks Legal. I am sure one of the fringe bands must be from Sarf London, waiting for someone to say their second cousin twice removed is playing.

Any of Neil Cowley, Phronesis or Robert Glasper. All are world class. Robert Glasper is probably the coolest, Neil Cowley is just genius, and knows his way around a keyboard. Phronesis are probably the most recognisably jazz in their output (of the above), but always watchable. My wife's favorite too. I go most years, but have just moved house and am too upside-down to make it this year. I was going to see Go-Go Penguin. Shame, I was really looking forward to that. For real cool, check out Wesseltoft, Schwartz and Berglund on YouTube (1:24:xx) and listen to Valiant at 16:00, and Movement 11 at 48:00. Simply stunning.
