Very sorry to see Gayle virtually forced out of Palace.

Probably very short sighted as remember, Bamford is only with us on a season long loan.

Give Gayle prime game time on loan for a season and bring him back to replace Bamford , but don't sell him!!

Unfortunately Gayle has become the sacrificial lamb for the purchase of Wickham. Because of our spending we have to recoup some money and Dwight is the only fringe player that will bring in some serious wonga. I know a lot of people won't agree but i would sell Bolasie for 15m and keep Gayle. With all this transfer tittle tattle we don't know what state Yannicks head is in. When he was away in January Gayle was given his chance and was superb, we didn't miss him at all. We have plenty of cover on that left side with Lee, Sako and Gayle himself. I love Yannick but if he and Gayle both played the same amount of games we all know who would score most goals and it wouldn't be Yannick.

Bolsasie has his issues but is stronger, faster and a fantastic unpredictable winger.

Gayle is a finisher but offers little else. We have to accept that. He is not a passer, dribbler, good in the air or a Cabaye.

He is loved and feel sorry for him but this a professional business and they are massively paid! 4 managers have been the same. I am in agreement with them from what I have seen.

All four managers have also said that Gayle is the best finisher at the club. I suppose that in the modern game if you score 20 goals but can't head away opponents corners then you're not much use.

He was not superb in January , he was very ordinary on the wing , and despite grabbing a couple of goals , yannick offers far more on the wing , I like Gayle and if played in a 442 with a Murray type forward doing the donkey work , he would score s*** loads , unfortunately for Dwight he was born in the wrong era , as he isn't capable of playing on his own and leading the line, all of our previous managers think the same , and quite clearly many others do to , hence why the only club to have put in an official bid is newly promoted Bristol city , whose tops corer last season was our none scoring centre forward Aaron wilbraham , who coincidently would be a perfect partner for Gayle.

I'd like to see Murray stay and Gayle loaned out for the season but the rest can go.

Some good Championship players there but none really up to the level of the Prem. As others have said, we've moved on and it's time for some of these players to move on too.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

He hasn't. It's a generalisation of what a modern striker is. Managers would rather them chip in with a few and have other attributes rather than be a 20 goal striker and nothing else. I would like to see how Jimmy Greaves would have fared today, all he could do was put the ball in the net 400 times, he couldn't tackle a rice pudding.

Why does everyone want us to loan out Gayle for a year? It wont change anything, he isn't going to play for us (I wont bother going into why as its been pretty comprehensively covered in many links) and loaning him out for a season would take him to the last year of his contract and effectively quarter his value in the transfer market. Sell him now, get decent money, reinvest that money into something that will be of value to the club.

I'm sure you've seen the comments from Pardew today that Gayle has asked to leave.

I saw it too.

Words to the effect of...

"...Yes, I do think he is good enough to play in the Premier League... but unfortunately due to the strength of our squad now...the lad came to me at the beginning of season and said he wanted to move on, we have found him a club and the ball is now in his court..."
