Ha ha, not even in Ecuador. Even they're fed up with this prat now.

Listened to a radio phone in tonight all about whether we should deport him to the USA. Lots of people phoning up to defend him over Wikileaks.

Completely missed the point. The man is wanted in Sweden on serious sexual related charges and has run away from clearing his name. He claims he has been cleared on several of the charges which is not true. The Swedes have dropped them due to a time limit. In other words if you hide from the authorities long enough you get away with it.

He has also claimed on various occasions that he would leave the embassy if certain conditions were met. They were and he is still inside.

My view, forget the Swedes and the Yanks I would arrest and jail him in the UK for defying a UK warrant and making a mockery of our justice system. After that deport him to Sweden let them deal with him their justice system is not a kangaroo court.

Just seen this in the treaty between Sweden and the USA you cannot extradite someone
"5. If the offense is regarded by the requested State as a political offense or as an offense connected with a political offense."

Of course this would be up to a Swedish court but reading an article in the FT it is very unlikely they would agree (they gave examples). So his position is BS.

This is the situation he's now in. Skipping bail is a one year sentence and the judge rightly dismissed his application to drop his arrest warrant.

The dozy c*** still has the gall to complain to our police that he has received a suspect package. They should have told him to test it himself.

For anyone interested in the detail behind Assange’s charges in Sweden, John Pilger has written some incredible stuff here: [Link]

Manning was tortured in Taiwan. Snowden has a plane on standby 24 hours a day should he leave protection. You may not like Assange as a person but you try hiding in a room for 5years from the most powerful surveillance groups in the world and see how genial you are.

I thought he was a c*** long before he started hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy.

Interesting read however John Pilger is known for his left wing views so I take this story with a pinch of salt. I do not doubt that the US wants to punish him but I am surprised that the Swedish prosecutor is as corrupt as painted. If that is true then it is a major scandal so why are the Swedes not up in arms over this?
Assange does not come across as a truthful person. I base this on his public statements (about leaving the embassy) and the documentary he was involved in. For the moment my view is that this is a man manipulating the system to avoid justice. If he is the victim here then he is going the wrong way about clearing his name.

As for extradition to the US from Britain I am against this. Its the Swedes who want him so that is where he should be deported.

I suspect the government of Ecuador is regretting giving him asylum. I have no sympathy for them he is not a political prisoner but someone who is evading justice and hoping that the charges against him will be dropped. They probably thought they were clever and sticking it to Uncle Sam I bet they wish they hadn't now.

A ridiculous waste of resources.

Assange should simply have been quietly smuggled out of the country.

It would have been forgotten years ago.

No class.
