Postcard to Matthew:

The someone hurt on 7/7 I know would I think (knowing her) say there is no contradiction whatsoever between fighting domestic terrorism and its causes firmly and within the law as we do (ie by seeking parliamentary approval of new anti-terrorist legislation),and seeking parliamentary approval before upping levels of military engagement overseas.

I am sure that above is what most people caught up in terrorism think. They definitely consider the need for 'parliamentary approval before upping levels of military engagement overseas' ahead of anything else.

Definitely...

Is it not a bit strange that both the Telegraph and sun both reported the death by drone of Khan back in July, yet Dave said it happened in August?

Then take it back to Parliament for a vote before you do it.What's the problem about proceeding that way?

Hang on Mr Terrorist I know your about to behead people but we need to have a vote before we decide what to do....would you mind stopping for a few days until this can be decided ?

Having been veto'd by Government, he uses drones in Syria.

I can guess what an MP would say but is defying a Parliament worse than a dodgy dossier?

There is, according to the elected government, substantial reason to suspect that two people who chose to leave Britain, be trained in ISIS camps and have gain conflict experience, were planning terrorist acts in the UK.

Given this situation, I fully support the government.

Or is several hundred killed in tube bomb better because 'parliament hasn't been defied'? Ask the families of the 7/7 victims for their opinion.

Living in a paliamentary democracy (for all its faults) is precisely IMHO one of the important things that distinguishes us from people like ISIS.If its a good idea to have drone attacks, what's such a bad idea about going to Parliament to endorse it? Or is it a further nail in the coffin of the notion of parliament having a meaningful place in the governance of the country?Next time, it might be a government you disagree with doing something you disagree with without parlimentary endorsement.

I'm not putting a view forward about rights and wrongs of using drones in Syria/Iraq.

Parliamentary democracy means you are accountable to Parliament, not you have to get its ok before you do anything.

I see Corbyn and the acting Labour leader are becoming all indignant about two Islamic terrorists being killed whereas they should be congratulating the government. Also of course the BBC are busy broadcasting the 'distrust' of the 'communities' where the two IS enemies of the UK lived during their sourjourn in Britain. Still it might stem the BBC's 24 hour output of 'we must take every refugee there is' programming.

I'm glad that a couple of IS tourists from the UK have been killed. It would be a good idea for HM government to get Intel on a few more and deal with them in the same manner.

Having gone through due process first.

I am amazed by the number of people who seem only too happy to support undemocratic process in the name of "National Security".

Get the democratic arrangements made and take a few more out please, Dave.

Two dead terrorists. Bonus. Shame they couldnt have got more. Does it matter how you get there if the end result is right in this case? I'd say no it does not.

I'm pretty sure the majority of the country couldn't give a flying f*ck whether he consulted parliament on this. If they're dangerous to our country it's the PM's (very difficult) decision to deal with them. He hasn't done a Blair, Iraq was completely different where complete lies were forced down Parliament's throat to make them vote in favour of military action.

Would be interesting too to see the Attorney General's legal advice, which appears to have been given after the event and which they have said they won't disclose.
