You could argue that, but you'd be lying. You'd still know that you contacted her because her picture was pretty. Its not as sexist, but it sexist, in the same way the term 'the blacks' isn't as racist as 'the ****s'. I shall be leaving a similarly 'inappropriate' comment on your LinkedIn profile in the near future, Jamie. Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham**

Context is everything. If it was a mate at work it is probably ok to say "You look good today" or something similar, though I always think the subtext then is - "Usually you look crap why did you make the effort today?" I am not sure this is just creepy or something worse. Certainly it is inappropriate - on a business platform. It is demeaning and undermining at the same time. Given the guy is a lawyer you think he might be more informed...then again the t*** is a lawyer. Deserves everything he gets As for the "it was just a compliment" crowd. How many would say it to a bloke?

I often compliment my male friends if they're looking well but equally have a pop if they look 'a bit rough around the edges'. Don't we all?

I fully appreciate that the 'stunning' comment was inappropriate but that's all it was.
But for her to 'show the world' is absolutely ridiculous.
I'd sack her before i sacked him tbh.

You clearly need to update it as the one in the paper shows your not actually that fit and your face has bloated. I actually think it is misleading and you are a disgrace to all females".

I would like to state here and now that I have also never received any job offers from LinkedIn (just a never ending stream of recruitment agents wishing to connect to me to gain access to my contacts), and also I have never had a comment about my picture being stunning. This is clearly sexist (as it can have nothing to do with my skills or qualifications) and I wish to make a stand right now! I am available for interviews with the press.
