I am in the process of getting a new laptop and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Don't wanna spend too much so don't think i'll be getting an apple but was wondering if anyone on the hol has any ideas for a decent, reasonably priced laptop.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

Have a look at the Samsung ones that look like an Apple. I've had one for about 3 years and they're decent, and from a quick search start at about £250.

Whatever you go for, get an SSD instead of a normal hard drive.

Check out what you get with it.... Office package?

I bought a laptop a year ago with Office 365 from my usual PC engineer, which I believed I had bought outright - he went bust earlier this year and I'm now getting reminders to renew the office 365 for £80 for another year!

I'm no IT/PC expert... what does that entail?

I'm nervous about installing programs.

In terms of re-sell value, get an apple.

Anything else is worthless after a few years, Apple products retain their value and you can sell them on.

It's ok mate it's just a open source version of office which you can open any .doc/wrd/exl attachment on and use just the same as office by concrosoft.
