I treated the missus to a top romantic night of rugby followed by Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol yesterday.

A few things struck me about Police Academy:

1. How did Mahoney not get incarcerated for his various 'pranks' against Captain Harris? Surely Supergluing Harris' loudspeaker to his mouth is grounds for a custodial sentence? If not that then encouraging a police dog to maul his genitals or luring Harris & Proctor to bar by saying 'it has the best salad bar in town' when in fact it is patronised by 'leather bears' who have a penchant for tango dancing and male-on-male rape is grounds for sending him to jail?;
2. Callahan. I had forgotten about her. In the eighties, she filled me strange feelings when I saw her and realised that a dominant woman in uniform could be very sexy. Since then, every time I have passed a Policewoman at London Bridge who has a top rack, a range of restraining devices and is packing heat, I have got a lazy lob on. Does anyone else remember Callahan so fondly?

Oh yes! By the way any reason for going for no4 in the series?

my fav was capt mauser. I think he came in replace of capt Harris.

in real life the actor art metrano (mauser) fell off a ladder and was paralysed for years and is now doing ok

tackleberry died years back. only about 51 years old. heart attack.

the good ol days of movies eh.

Firstly, you're spoiling her.

Secondly, I blame Callahan for most of my failed relationships. I first saw Police Academy as a ten year old and it set me on a doomed 20 year quest to find a woman of that magnitude who could use judo in the manner exhibited in the following clip. Unfortunately all I have now is a lot of 'what ifs' and restraining orders from local dojos.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

It was the first DVD that came to hand.

Mission to Miami on in a bit. Have to agree police academy was a great set of films and Michael Winslow is a top and funny guy (loved him in spaceballs also) heard there was a remake on the cards.
