Any way back on track lads. What we should be doing is holding them all in transit and dispersing them back to Muslim countries such as Qatar, UAE, Kuwait etc. Especially those with strong fundamentalist leanings.

Why would you want to send them to countries with strong fundamentalist leanings?

Meaning refugees.

But again, why would you want to send them to countries with strong fundamentalist leanings?

Because they would fit in better there say, than in Basingstoke!!

So you're assuming people actively escaping violent fundamentalism secretly want to embrace it? Ok. It's like I said in the other thread, they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. When all is said and done you're just not that keen on muslims and you don't care what happens to these people escaping a war torn country. Fine. If that's your view, thats' your view. There is no need to dress it up.

Agreed. Your thoughts are not clouded but they are mystifyingly black and white for someone with a brain.

With respect, in this instance, may i suggest your ........phobia has ridden roughshod over your intelligence.

I present a narrative, but I recognise it doesn't fit all instances.

But we aren't writing books here.

I think by 'phobia' you are perhaps suggesting something darker....If so Kermy I can assure you I don't see it that way.

It's true that I'm culturally a mild ethnocentric.....But I don't see how that has to be a negative.....I believe everyone should be.

I'll leave it here because sleep calls.....but I truly believe with regard to yout ethocentricity...,that you would rather live next door to a nice Syrian refugee family than a British Chav loud one.

As in demeanour overrides background.

Tell me I'm wrong.

No, they wouldn't. That's like saying your black mate from Thornton Heath back in the 70's would fit in better in the Congo than in Edinburgh. Wrong.

This reminded me of Paul Boateng at the Carnival.

Whilst recognizing we need to house our own crap as is their birthright......Yeah, a nice family is a nice family.

Kermy:

Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

People who claim to have thought about issues but still come to the same conclusion as a bloke down the pub are those that are most 'mystifying' and concerning. Anyone drawing ridiculous sweeping conclusions about 'muslims' or 'the left' when they actually have the capacity to think, are just troubled individuals. I couldn't believe the comment the other day from this fellow about how basically no-one on the left would fight for anything. If you said the same about the right it wouldn't matter. It's just pure prejudice from a place of hate and fear. I'm a tory voter which is the biggest joke of all considering I'm probably defending lib dem and labour voters but you need fairness in life too.

Back to simplistic misrepresentation....And I thought you were improving. A shame really.

I said the modern British left couldn't get enough together to take the local park.

Of course some on the left are willing to fight for principles......Arrrrrgggghhh. Totally over your head.

It was a swipe at the modern egalitarian left's stomach for the military in general.....Now you go and type up a rather nasty personal post like this.

I live in a part of The Bronx where there is a Huge influx of people from the Yemen be they refugees or legal immigrants and I would say 99.9% of them make NO attempt to integrate into any part of American society. The majority of women wear burqa's and you never see the men talk to any of the other huge swathe of ethnicities here in my neighbourhood, be they Puerto Rican, Dominican, British Guyana, Burkina Fason's, Ecuadorian, Mexican etc. They are so culturally removed from western culture that the vast majority of them will never integrate fully. Now there are neighbourhoods dotted all over NYC which are Dominant in certain races. Woodlawn in the Bronx is Irish, Washington Heights is Dominican, Flushing in Queens is Chinese, Pelham Bay is very Philippine, Richmond Hill in Queens is very Punjabi, but one thing all these people bring to the table is although proud of their cultural roots they all regard themselves citizens of The USA. As it happens the more 'Secular' a muslim is the more they seem to find it easier to 'Fit in' I have a business partner Sylla who's from the Guinea & although Muslim culturally does not let it rule his life to the point of being excluded from he mainstream. Its the same as all my guys at the wholesalers all Muslim (and celebrated eid adha) yesterday but seemed to have some how spanned that divide between two cultures..........

Anyone who repeats what you actually say is 'misrepresenting'.

Oh sorry I didn't realise that in terms of fighting for your country "the modern British left wouldn't have a number big enough to take your local park." is fine but "the left" isn't. Not like you're contorting words to wrap around your own prejudice. Shall I start saying 'the modern right' and then whatever I say after it is A-OK?. You don't recognise your own millions wide silly, sweeping generalisations. That's the long and short of it. Anyone who doesn't subscribe to your prejudices and it's "over their head" or it's "oh kermy" or "oh jamie" you silly lot. Talk about lack of self awareness. Stop defining yourself by who you are desperate to get away from.

Personal once again.

I'm not going there,

If you don't like my posts you are welcome not to respond to them. If you are going to represent someone's views you should be careful to be accurate and not twist them to fit your own narrative.

You inhibit a space where any questioning of your sweeping statements is 'personal'. From what others have said we've been here before. You know how to walk the line. I won't start with the name calling like others, I'll just allow you to continue with the generalised attacks on 'the left', 'muslims', 'retards' and whoever else. It's no less slimy though. I don't blame others for calling a spade a spade, because there's nothing noble about knowing what you can get away with and acting accordingly.

What attack on 'retards'?

Again.....more misrepresentation.

People have lied about my views before. When things have come to a head in the past and have been reviewed I wasn't the one found to be at fault.

I'm happy to be questioned for my views.....But that's not what you've done.

You don't swear so fair enough but you aren't really a debater. You just want to play the insults.

Who on earth behaves in such a way that their behaviour needs to be routinely 'reviewed'? I'll leave you be. It's clear that you both get a thrill out of your own swaggering and are oblivious to how you behave. No more comments from me. Enjoy spreading your anger around. I'm sure those around you really appreciate it. I'm too long in the tooth for toy soldiers, you're welcome to yours.
