Usually this is harder than being paroled (i.e. more than good behavior and keeping out of trouble). Whilst its often played in the media as eight years, its remarkably difficult to get released. Technically no one has Viking heritage, as Vike means to raid (or go on a long journey). Its a term that stuck from a misunderstanding from various Scandinavian languages. Angles and Saxons, along with Jutes were quite close in proximity and traded heavily with the assorted Northmen. An irony of history is that the Saxons and Angles migrated to the UK as a result of the expansionism of the Franks and the Carolegian empire. The Danes and Scadia people traded heavily with the Carolegian empire - and it was the collapse of this empire that resulted in the period of the 'Viking Raids on Britain' mostly on the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms of England.
