Can't see the problem. It's a category in a realm in which categorisation is valuable. Financially motivated crime; violent crime; hate crime; crimes of passion, whatever. The figures are usefully indicative in any number of ways and tell us at least something about society.

A situation caused by the shameless flooding of Britain with foreign cultures to keep business happy and plug up the pension gap plus the West's gobsmackingly short sighted foreign policy. Once, when I was young, I actually believed that the powers that be actually knew what they were doing. At least a person in Africa can now afford a bicycle. They know exactly what they doing and it's working a treat. You are even more cynical than me. Respect. How many more can't see it is beyond me. There are several intelligent. educated and articulate people who regularly post here, but how the f-ck the majority of them can't see that THEY are being taken for mugs WHATEVER colour is in power baffles me tbh. Oh well, if it makes you happy, makes you feel that you make a difference, then keep on voting chaps. You're right of course. People invest so much into their allegiance to policital parties who beneath the veneer either don't give two s***s about them, or are bombarded with so many rich and powerful influences their morals and ideals end up in the dirt anyway. I think as supporters of a team we're more inclined to vehemently 'pick a side', but it is bewildering how far most here take that. There is shockingly little thought applied. Corporations also used to account for 35% of the countries revenue, but now only accounts for 11%, in the USA anyways, i assume its a similar picture over there.

Does that not belittle crimes against anyone else if they're all lumped in to one? I can't really face the argument over which people are eligible to be victims of such crimes but would you not then catalogue them all independently? Otherwise I can't see the point. This isn't going to provide additional protection and certainly isn't going to help with obtaining any meaningful statistics.

Surely we could vote using a unique electronic ID on issues and bills, rather than having people who can probably claim to represent maybe 30% of their constituents making the decisions for 100% of them.

To be honest, I find it worrying that most people can vote for an MP, let alone individual laws. "Why did you vote to bomb Wales?"

Hate Crimes (my personal favourite use of Orwellian English) up 18% David Cameron did raise a wee smirk... It comes as Mr Cameron announced that anti-Muslim hate crimes will be recorded as a separate category by all police forces in England and Wales. Commenting on the Home Office figures, Mr Cameron tweeted: "Rising hate crime is unacceptable - we must do more to fight it which is why we will make sure police record anti-Muslim attacks."
"Where is the unit for crimes by Muslims on christains" they will cry, and judging by the documentry on the absolute screameing fcuktards from the EFP they will use it to their own backwards agenda.
It is a nasty sounding phrase, but c**t crime was sexist. Its just a more catchy phrase than Prejudicially motivated crime. The reporting is a bit bias, because it suggests that Muslims will be treated specially, when in fact they'll be separated out from racially/religious motivated assaults (due to a recent spike in racially motivated assaults on Muslims creating a distortion in racial recording). Worryingly the spike has been seen in racially motivated intimidation, threats and assaults on women.

To be honest, I find it worrying that most people can vote for an MP, let alone individual laws. "Why did you vote to bomb Wales?" Obviously some kind of petition threshold would be required. Of course its a bit hard to be a democracy if you can't actually trust the people. As for the last paragraph, that's pretty much how elections work.

Everything nowadays appears to be called the opposite of what it is, like all of these US 'Freedom Bills'. Like you say, MPs claiming to 'represent us' more often than not do no such thing.
