RVP could be a bank breaker. however, we need someone in that mould to cause fear. Think of RVP, Andy Carroll, Glen Murray, Theo Walcott. at the moment we have strength on the wings, but not enough in the centre. poor Dwight gave the impression that he had it all to do - it could be said that he was trying to do too much.
I trust Alan Pardew to give surprises - think of our young players, waiting (some on loan) for their opportunity, remembering that Wayne Rooney was in the Everton First Team at 16, and Ray Wilkins was Clelsea captain at 17.

Think one and two two wingers, three centres (forward, mid and back) and a striker - each attaching attention from two opposition players, and the potential for us to go home happy after most matches.

We had a thread last week (I think) about what transfers would you like for Xmas, with the caveat that if money was no object RVP would be a signing I'd like to see happen. Little or no chance in reality. I can see him going to somewhere like Barcelona...

Van Persie is surely for a club offering the big player bucks. If he wants to come in and wear Palace shirt with pride and all that comes with it, then I'd be over the moon to sign him.

Apart from anything else, he is supposed to be absolute poison in the dressing room. Apparently one of very few players Wenger has openly said he was glad to see the back of and as soon as he stopped scoring for fun, Man Utd. had no interest in keeping him around the place either. Word on the street is that he's the sort of personality you tolerated when he was at the top of his game but you'd have no interest in having around on the downside of his career.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

In other words.......a right s***. That would go hand in hand with that "indiscretion" from early on in his career then.

RVP will follow the money and go off to the USA where the pay is big and the work required is low. Allied To that, would he ever be a Pardew type player ? I suspect not.

Yes and no

parish wants to win something asap as he's hit 50. quoted many times. hence cabaye isn't one for the future. not saying we'll buy vp but we will buy more players in late 20s who are established so to get us some silverware. and I'm sure of it.
