Dwight Gayle just do not get this love affair with him. Never have done, never will do. I'd prefer Andy Carroll I think he could be superb for us. Has injury problems but when he's fit a real handful. Did play for Pardew at Newcastle but I think it ended in an acrimonious Wickham and Carroll rotating up front would give us a lot more power up front.

If the guy could stay fit he'd have 40 England caps by now, I really do think he's got the full package. Problem is, no-one can justify those wages for 10 appearances a season.

He's a great player to have around but has far too much down time. Can't remember the last time he saw out a whole season - it was probably at Newcastle?

injury free i would have andy carroll in a heartbeat at palace...think is £15m & near on 100k a weeks wages may just be a stumbling block...tho if he got 20 goals a season it would be justified.
