I'm surprised Jamie hasn't popped up yet with his concerns about the person he was travelling with...

Likewise, been expecting Corbyn to pop up with a "tragedy" comment, and calling on Cameron to be tried for war crimes.

All the HOL lefties seem to disappear from view/comment when this type of event happens.

He has commented:

“We await identification of the person targeted in last night’s US air attack in Syria.

“It appears Mohammed Emwazi has been held to account for his callous and brutal crimes. However, it would have been far better for us all if he had been held to account in a court of law.

“These events only underline the necessity of accelerating international efforts, under the auspices of the UN, to bring an end to the Syrian conflict as part of a comprehensive regional settlement.”

Pretty alarming that Corbyn is about a mile to the left of any HoL member.

The horrific events in Paris have of course deflected attention away from Jihadi John.Has it officially been confirmed by the US that he is dead ?

To many I would say it DOES matter.
Still the horrific events in Paris have inevitably overshadowed the situation concerning Jihadi John.

Sadly there are doubtless plenty more willing candidates ready to be the next beheading video stars for IS.

Why oh why does NATO not have the balls to do a proper job with boots, armour and close air support "on the ground" like the Russians are doing?

It's a war - assymetric or not. Get the f*** in there and do the f***ing job rather than ramp up a full on Paranoia State here at home. I'm sure the UK recruiting arm of IS will see a drop off in demand when it's clear that AK-47 toting militia get rapidly exterminated by a professional army equipped with the full suite of 21st century taxpayer-subsidised "defence" industry toys.

I agree to some extent but this is not a war in the sense we've come to recognise wars. We certainly need the military muscle/ technology on the ground but it should be an international effort to police the atrocities carried out by a temporary infestation of criminals. Re-establish stability and law and order in the countries where these monsters operate. Never let them gather en masse again nor give them the credibility they think they have. No more publicity for Jihadi Johns just round them up and deal with them.

Do you not mean Cowards.

Their advertising campaign should read "Join ISIS and be brave hiding behind a mask".

Massive generalised and non PC post coming up.

I read a poll lately that quite a high proportion of British Muslims are sympathetic towards IS etc. Not talking about the scumbags that are actually radicalised and involved, but just sympathisers.
I can only go on the 1st generation I'll say Asians rather than Muslims ( as I've never known what religion they are ) that I've come into contact with.
At school and after they were never considered very cool, can you imagine growing up with parents / grandparents that don't/can't speak English. Whilst all your black and white peers are running round having a laugh and trying to pull birds, you are told about arranged marriages having to hang about with your brothers and sisters. Hanging about behind the jump in your mum and dads shop on a Friday night when your school mates are out the front hanging about with girls, messing about , drinking and generally taking the piss.
Having no cool role models in the public eye, sporting or otherwise . Cricket players might carry a bit of weight with kids in India/ pakistan etc but don't with the ones in England.
Basically a boring disciplined life with a future of marrying a girl that you don't even want to f**k.
Then a new lot of young blokes turn up, that don't give a f**k. They are up for challenging the very sort of individuals that have grown up taking the piss out of you. . And as its religion based they feel that it's a way of excusing themselves from there parents.
It's the 'tribal, wanting to fit , strength in numbers culture' , similar to why people join football firms , gangs ( f**k me there's people doing drive by shootings over where your allowed to sell white powder to stick up your nose)

All a load of old b****ks really and they maybe can't see that they are supporting people that are rapists and bumping off kids.
But maybe part of a reason why they are drawn to it.
Although probably not

You'd think that Western governments would have learned that, after Yugoslavia / Iraq / Libya, that facilitating the removal of the Iron Fist holding the state together only leads to disaster for all concerned. Or is that the point?

Peace doesn't equal profits.

That probably explains the situation better than I have ever seen to date!

Where I live they have just increased the size of the infants/junior school and a lot of Asian kids now come to that school from nearby Easton (in Bristol)
A lot of the parents of these kids have now bought properties in the area, but not one of those kids has joined the local junior footy team.

I think the parents won't let them integrate and that is the problem.

They want to live here to prosper, but not be a part of our society and contribute.

Those poor kids must long to be accepted and part of the "gang".... no good will come of it keeping them away from mainstream society.

Well yes, the danger of failing to identify the termination of an known enemy asset and just assuming they were killed, is that they 'drop off the radar' - no ones looking for a dead man - and that allows greater capacity for movement under a new identity.
