I know this will be shot down by most on here, however when I see big guys running around with knives stabbing random people, I really don’t know why we don’t re-introduce the death penalty.
It’s estimated that every new prisoner costs the state roughly 65k pa to keep them, reducing to 40k pa for every year thereafter. If the guys gets banged up for 10-12 years then this has cost roughly 500k of tax-payers money, only to find he may come out and offend again.
What a bloody waste of money, 40kpa would pay for an extra police officer on our streets.
Growing up in Tooting in the 70s I remember London always having it’s gangsters/hard men/villains etc, however, on the whole it was a far safer place to be than it is now.
There’s too many of these nutters in our once great city and we need to start cleansing society of this scum.

..I believe the experiment of new medication and drugs would be of better use on them for the better of mankind, same as athletes, such a waste.

..it's more of a punishment to be in jail knowing everything you're missing outside, people can improve and many just make one bad call, don't forget all these humans have mums, dads, brothers and sisters, bad enough visiting them in jail let alone a grave, there are some like Brady who should be wiped out, but I'm not sure where to draw the line, I can't help imagining him sitting back and enjoying his memories, same goes for all serial cases I suppose, lethal injection is the same as when we put our poor animals to sleep, it is quick and to the point, but like in America it takes a long long time for all the details to be ticked off.

East London Stabbing - Terrorism related

Everything's currently ''terrorism related''.
Last year we were also warned of ''Weather-bombs''!

Get used to it.

Time to move forward together.

Respectfully I disagree, if you gave him or most others the choice between a 10-15 year sentence and a firing squad, I know what most would choose.
We (the tax payers) now have to pay for him to be locked up, plus he will be a potential threat whist inside to other prisoners and prison guards, finally when he does get out, the tax payer will again have to support him as nobody is going to offer employment to a nutter with an attempted murder wrap. He will just be a drain on society, paid for by you and I.
As I type this I have just finished sorting out the tax I am due to pay next month to support f@ckers like him and I resent it as I work bloody hard and bloody long hours.
I say put a bullet in him and be done with it.

..I'm self employed too But I imagine some of these humans would opt for the firing ..especially at the beginning of a twenty year stretch, the duration is the punishment, that's why many are on watch in case they manage to get at themselves, you hear sometimes they are successful and it leaves some of their victims in a worse state, because they will always suffer, but now know that the perpetrator of their suffering is no longer able to, but I quite like the system where the victim is allowed to choose the attackers fate, so if they decide they die then that is it, fair enough.

Two different stories altogether there. The East London one isn't being treated as someone with a screw loose at all

...people who suffer a religion happen to be rather partial to a bit of fruitcake, they'd eat anything from a book that they like the look off and the bit about the drill means we have to do better next time somebody with a knife stands at the exit killing people as they come out

Hilarious.

Of course followers of non religious types, like Hitler, Castro, Mussolini, Kim il-Jong, Mao or Pol Pot, would never arbitrarily murder people because of an 'ideology', would they?

Hitler was Christian and I would be surprised if Mussolini wasn't a Catholic.

Ah yes, the old "it wasn't like this in my day" and "villains in the old days had respect" and "you could leave your front door open" blah blah. Couldn't leave your kids with teacher/priest/TV presenter, though...

If you like executions, I know of a mob in Syria who'll suit you perfectly.

Seconded.

Quite true - the problem is the 'gospel of the truth' which validates any action in its cause as justified, whether its burning heretics, stoning witches, purifying the Aryan race or a progrom of capitalist traitors or intellectuals. Anything that holds itself as being based in an absolute truth, delivers the capacity for justification of the basest of cruel and barbarous actions.

God / allah is just another source of absolute justification for such base fanaticism. Just like the Nazi Party or the Communist Party line.
