When's he off then?

He doesn't have to go anywhere as he hasn't done anything wrong. If he had done something wrong he would would have been charged. The authorities have had 15 years to build a case but they have nothing on him.

He is innocent until proven guilty not guilty till proven innocent. That's how they system is meant to work.

The people who made the decision to bang up an innocent man for 15 years should be the ones who have to go somewhere. That place should be prison for the false imprisonment and torture of an innocent man.

Probably up to no good, but that doesn't actually necessarily mean he was a terrorist or enemy combatant even (or however we decide to label people to avoid legal obligations). Plenty of people in the UK had fought in Afghanistan prior to 2001 without being criminals. The Taliban until then was more or less the 'recognised' authority of Afghanistan.

Until the invasion, it wasn't illegal to be a member of the Taliban, only Al-Qaeda. The two were not the same.

I think it also depends on what is meant by extremist Muslims (not all extreme Islam is necessarily violent 'pro-IS dakaka Mohammed Jyhid'. I'm curious as to where they are 'going to go' though, presumably to Syria, Afghanistan etc which could be problematic....

Exactly, part of the story the Beeb has chosen not to dwell on.

I have been to Afghan. To be blunt it's a fcuking sh1t hole, makes tower hamlets look like Downtown Abbey on a summers day. I didn’t think it possible that a whole city (Kabul) could smell of sh1t, I was wrong.

The only way moving to Afghanistan could improve family life was if your dad was a certain Mr Fritzel and the only time you saw a light bulb was when it was silhouetted by your dads cock.

He was up to no good and got nicked for it. Boo hoo.

As if an intelligence agent will admit which secret service he's from. And it would more than likely have been MI6 not 5.

As the left always bleat on about don’t always believe what you hear or see in the media (especially where auntie Bee'b is involved).

The left (and their mouthpiece the supposed impartial BBC) prefer to demonise British combatants like Sgt Alex Blackman of the Royal Marines than tell the truth about this situation where it is clear that this man is far from innocent!

I work on the guilty cat theory.

You wake up with a dead mouse on your door matt, you didnt see the cat do it, there were no witnesses to the cat ripping it's head off. But you know the cat did it, because thats what they do.

This fella is about as innocent as Jimmy saville.

If Blackman has been demonised it has been by the Army (who court-martialled him) and convicted him of murder, before a 'kind of jury' of his peers. I don't think you can really blame the BBC or the left for that. I think a fair trial is in order, but I wouldn't presume someone, convicted by the law, to be innocent, until they're actually acquitted on appeal or the conviction is quashed.

I'm certainly curious as to why the Army decided to demonise him, and not the other two people who were court martialled alongside him.

I think the man has been badly treated, but its far from certain that he is innocent - He deserves a fair trial (one in which witnesses cannot be 'prevented' from appearing).
