I would guess AP has his targets, but i would take crouch on loan, cant get a game for stoke, can hold it up and scores goals.

Short term fix.

I was about to say exactly this. A fit, motivated Crouch would be an almost perfect stopgap for the next four months. Scores goals; a handful; experienced. Then, we can find the right long-term solution over the summer. This would be a brilliant move.

Would definitely welcome this too, only thing is would Stoke let him go to us?

Well, if they're still interested in Jedi, who they tried to sign on deadline day, then we might be able to do each other a favour with two good players largely surplus to the team their with's requirements.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Cheap strikers
why are we only interested in cheap strikers.
We are Crystal Palace we are 5/6 in the prem our board have made us one of the best run clubs in the country. So we should be looking for the best striker that fits in with the other player we have. Not bargan basement.

Mr.Parish has already said in the press recently that we need to progress to the next level. In my very humble opinion getting strikers like Crouch or Jerome ain't progression. We already had Jerome here once before and he didn't progress us much then. In fact I remember sitting in the Holmesdale watching him and his progressing and thinking to myself what the hell have we done to deserve this progressing. So it's a no from me on that kind of progression, I thought it was all about going forward not backwards.

Progress can also come from strengthening the squad. Pardew has spend 7 or so million on Wickham, so will be hoping to make him succeed. Having a striking selection of Wickham, Gayle and Crouch would be sufficient for me until a proper upgrade in the summer. Even Jerome, albeit a little underwhelming would be an improvement on Campbell or Bamford.

Like the look of Andre Gray at Burnley although I know he's only moved to them in the summer. Think Ross McCormack could do a good job for us, playing in a very poor Fulham side.

Has anyone seen anything of Benik Afobe at Wolves. Not seen much of him myself but he seems to fit the bill: strong, direct, scoring goals and only 22. Wouldn't be cheap though, I think they turned down a 10 million bid in the summer.

We seem to gave been doing well with few (if any0 striker goals.

Midfield selections are from a solid squad.

Why - until we have fully fit again strikers (remembering that opposing team players can take the stuffing out of strikers, add three young players to the bench/team. if they can all try to be as unselfish as Wilf and Yannick have become, we will present a challenge to our opponents and (hopefully) goals to the Home supporters.

Andy Carroll if we could get him reasonably cheap. Just hope his injury record holds up.
