Erm, from the above I would say too much. I've had a bottle of wine in the fridge since July as was a birthday present but drinkings a social thing for me.

Wow I say this with much love ... But since July !! That means you haven't socialised in 5 months !!

Oops, mucked up with my post. I don't drink at home which is why the wines still there. Drink with friends after work etc but its mainly due to long days and not wanting to go home to an empty house.

I probably drink about 8 pints of lager and maybe 5 or 6 vodkas/gins. Usually all in the one night though, so not sure if that's better or worse than spreading it out across the week?

On average how many pints a week do you drink ? just wondering so I can see if my consumption is average.

Cheers (see what i did there)

I saw what you did with the spelling of alcohol so I guess your consumption is above average right now.... LOL

Sadly I have Parkinsons and Diabetes and am on a lot of medication these days (I'm 61 years old now) so am now teetotal.

From 18 years old to 55 I used to drink pretty much every day after work but shedloads at weekends after sport participation or watching it (eg Palace).

I miss the crack/banter of pubs and bbq's but not the hangovers, arguments and trouble it got me into... not to mention a drink/drive conviction in 1992 when I fell asleep driving my car on the M4, which was really irresponsible. That day/night I drank about 12 pints of Stella and about 8 "Glenn Hoddles".... madness!

If you're wondering if your consumption is high, it probably is.

Drinking all in one go (Binge Drinking) is worse for your health than spreading the same amount during the week.

Have a bottle of wine/champagne (sometimes two) with my wife 2/3 times in the week. Drink beer on the weekend, probably 20 bottles on average , sometimes go out on a Wednesday night with my mates and have a load up.
F*ck it, I enjoy it , never had a hangover, doesn't effect my home /work life, don't smoke, eat healthily , don't take any drugs anymore, and go to the gym 5 days a week. If it was making me fat if cut down ( I'm a vain c**t).
Id say I drink less than most of my mates , apart from one who's got a problem with it, and isn't drinking at the moment. But, like him, if I had a problem with it , I'd knock it on the head.
I fu*king love walking out of my house on a Wednesday to meet my pals to talk a load of boll*cks take the piss out of each other and have a laugh , got bundles going on at work and 3 kids indoors , everyone needs a release, or id end up bottling it up and do a Raoul Moat.

3 pts/week.
Very rarely drink wine or spirits.
Gave up smoking 22 years ago.
Never did drugs.
Run 25-28 miles/week.

Blowing own trumpet I know, but 1990 I did drink 10 pints/week and smoked. Found running and the rest is history. Need running to help keep weight down.

How on earth can you go to the gym 5 days a week with 3 kids at home? You must be fantastic at time management. I only have 2 [albeit youngest now 14 months old] and had to knock the gym on the head.

As to OP, beer reserved for football days, country hikes and special nights out. Otherwise, wine all the way. Not [just] poncey - I just process red wine better and enjoy it more.
