I'm against Adebayor joining CPFC. He has had his chances. I don't want CPFC to be viewed as a club that will lower professional standards - selling your soul as one might say. Yes, there are instances where "selling your soul" has worked, but there are many more where it didn't work. Some of those examples are about the very player we're discussing. No thanks.

I'd like to take a shot at bringing in P.M Lasogga. He's a brutish striker and has the sort of ferocious competitive fire that fits the club. I don't know what Hamburg SV would ask, but it wouldn't hurt to find out? Charlie Austin and I guess Loic Remy are on my radar as well.

He sounds like the dictator of a small, Central African republic.

If he's in shape and if he's motivated it would be the best signing we could make on a six month deal. Absolutely awesome. Adebayor in his first six months with any new side tends to be of the very highest quality. Then he gets a long-term contract and loses interest. Yes, please.

The two smallest words are the two biggest issues. No No NO No NO...forget this waster...he's only in it for himself.

The phrase buyer beware has never been more relevant. He's actually still a pretty decent player, but apparently he's still being paid around 100k a week by Spurs, despite being a free agent. I guess that ends if he signs a contract before the 'payout' caps out at the agreed sum.

Big risk and we could do better for less I think elsewhere.

No to a player who is still on £100k per week for Spurs and who hasn't played first team football in ages. He certainly has time on his hands in more ways than one:

With Bamford set to return to Chelsea a player of Adebayor's experience and goal scoring ability would be a very good swap.

Giving him 6 months would be a decent option as even at, say, eighty thousand a week cost less than 3m. A loan player will attract a fee of around one million and very likely another million plus in wages.

Obviously we will still need to get a decent permanent signing in if possible, especially if Gayle goes.

Adebayor is someone who will try hard for a short spell of five or six months.

I cannot see him being allowed to affect team morale.

3 Million !!!!!!!
Would rather play a youngster.

I like what he has to offer. Some big strikers aren't necessarily physical players, but Lasogga absolutely is a pub fighter. His technical skill is rapidly improving. He has good range on his shot, but he excels at battering defenders to win service into the box. I think Zaha, Bolasie, and Cabaye can provide the service he needs. I can't say it enough, this is a man that will slug it out with anyone to get a shot on goal. He'll take you on in front of goal, on the byline, in the parking lot, it doesn't matter. He's a Palace kind of footballer. I'd be soaked in whisky if we got him, but the price could be a bit much. Maybe if keep saying it enough, we'll get him haha.

My feeling is 'God No.'

If it were to happen, could we please get him 1st January with the option to abort after 3 weeks so there's still time left to get someone else in if he turns out to be a bellend.

this!!!

Genuinely don't get the hostility to such an idea. I'd much rather have a free Adebayor, playing for a contract and scoring goals, than spending over the market value for a forward in a desperate attempt to sort our goal-scoring issues out.

Let's be frank here, yes he is a bit of a nightmare but he can score goals and has a point to prove. He's the sort of player who'd excel at Palace and become somewhat of an iconic figure.
