Would be a good signing, would give us goals from midfield,we don't have enough goal from midfield.

Notwithstanding what I wrote yesterday, having thought about it I would have him. Shelvey at the top of his game would make us a better team although I still think players would be going out if he were to come in.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Would rather go for Ashley Williams, if we are in any negotiations with Swansea. Feel midfield is the last position that needs strengthening. Except if it is an upgrade on what we have.

Just when I thought that I was out...........they pull me back in

Tend to agree with you however some of the recent remarks Pardew has been making makes we think we might be going for Shelvey. Think Pards keeps saying we are not being creative enough to fashion chances. Maybe he sees Shelvey as a number 10.

I'm also beginning to think that although we are going for strikers that our potential targets are becoming ruled out and so he might look to find a player who will unlock teams with a central through ball smaller strikers like Gayle or Campbell can run onto to supply us with goals. I have no evidence for this just a thought.

I have the same feeling. I think Pards is also after a striker but also creativity to supply the new striker with Wickham as back up. Would not be surprised to see either Gayle or Campbell leave during this window and perhaps one of Jedinak or Ledley

Some good points, and we have to take into account players will be moved on. I hope we hang on to ledley, but feel Jedinak could be on his way.

Would be happy with this as long we can afford to sign a proven striker as well. Players like Jedinak or Campbell/Gayle may have to leave to make it happen

With Pards circling for Shelvey, it's inevitable that Jedi is on his way.. A shame TBH but his passing accuracy lets us down too many times. Like many on here, Shelvey is a bit of an unknown really... Whether Pards can get him performing week in week out is yet to be determined if he comes.... It's clear there are Going to be some major changes this Window and in the Summer.... I personally like the thought of a performing Shelvey in the #10 role... He is a big strong lad and as we bid farewell to Chammers at the end of the season...he is definitely one for the future for us

Red & Blue since ' 76.. And what a fine year that was and has been ever since... !

Stats actually confirm that Jedis passing this season is 75% and Ledleys is 77% so really this whole rubbishing of Jedis passing is laughable.

Would be very happy with this signing. End of last season / beginning of this season people were waxing lyrical about Shelvey's passing and vision. Yes he has gone off the boil recently but then so have Swansea generally, losing the manager and rumours of a few wanting out, perhaps a fresh start is what Shelvey wants/needs at this stage of his career.
He has undoubted talent, technically very good, tall, string and tenacious and who can score a goal. Exactly the type of player who can help 'unlock the defence' that Pardew keeps saying we need to find a way to do recently.
I believe this would spell the end for Jedi (although positionally different) and probably Chamakh come end of season and to my mind would improve our overall 'squad'.
If Shelvey was an unknown foreign star with a highlights real on YouTube people would be hoping Pardew could get this one 'over the line'.
Also pleased with some of our other rumoured targets; Caulker, Austin (who, like Shelvey represents young British talent yet to reach full potential and with re-sale value), All three have been involved in the England set up - further progress for Palace and our squad as a whole. Would also be delighted to reunite Pardew and Cabaye with Remy.
These four signings would significantly improve our squads depth, quality and options.
