Kids don't do ramadan.

End thread.

IIRC after puberty they do fast, and this is about high school kids, so many will be fasting.

I've taught kids who have been fasting. They didn't do so well in the afternoons, particularly as they'd been up all night stuffing their faces until sunrise.

Perhaps we shouldn't keep moving our own holidays to suit Easter. That can't make it's mind up when it wants to be from one year to the next!

Thing is, no matter what you or I think, religion IS a big deal for many many people and a central pillar of their lives.

They've tried to multiple times (it's even in British law but it's ignored) but the Church will not have it.

Like Ramadan it's due to the lunar and solar calendars.

And Islam will set the British timetable back years for ridding itself of religious influence. Our Governments have no balls and wish to solicit the ethnic vote.

Does that make christianity more important than Islam in your mind then?

Nope. All religion is s***, as I've said many times before.

Easter, by law, should be the first Sunday after the second Saturday in April and the Church should deal with it. Just as the exams should stay where they were and those who want to fast should move the dates for that.

Because that doesn't work out the same.

If the 1st is a Sunday what date should Easter Sunday be?

Then work out what date it would be if the 1st was a Saturday.

If all religion is sh***, then why would you want to celebrate Easter anyway, with it being wholly a religious festival, you really shouldn't want to celebrate it anytime! Likewise, without religion there is no purpose to Christmas - they are the two main Christian festivals.

As a bye-the-bye, Easter is a moveable feast so that it roughly aligns with the Jewish Passover, as it did in biblical times, using both the solar and lunar calendars.

Not relevant. Religious influence should be removed from schools entirely and that includes timetables for exams. It is outrageous in 2016 that religious doctrine should have any say whatsoever. We are rapidly going backwards, as I have said many times, and it is the fault of self serving politicians and short sighted liberals.

I don't celebrate it. I do accept it's existence however, as I do with Ramadan or any other crap people want to celebrate but don't expect the rest of the world to revolve around it.

I've already said they're dictated by lunar and solar calendars but the world isn't anymore. So if there's a clash, tough luck.

We aren't going to move Euro 2016 for Ramadan, are we?
