Naming your fave Bowie album is tricky. How about your favourite track?

Out of a list of very strong contenders, I've gotta say 'Quicksand' off Hunky Dory. Always loved it but it made me kinda well up listening to it this afternoon.

Anyone else brave enough to nominate one outstanding track?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

5 Years for me from Ziggy Stardust - nobody else could sing it.

Before I got with the Mrs I'll admit I had no idea who he was. The mrs has his albums and I got her his DVDS so I've seen them, enjoyed them and put a few of his songs on my phone.

I really liked his older stuff more than the newer stuff tho. I don't know what songs of his were popular as was never a massive fan but my favourite of his would be Five Years.

The title track of Station to Station was awesome live. I saw him at Wembley Pool in 1976 and was about 10 rows from the stage; the intro sounded like the train was rolling right over the crowd!

However, Changes or Life on Mars are about equal top, can't choose between them.

In my local HMV today and they were playing Starman. It sounded fantastic still ahead of it's time. My favourite track though is 5 year. Sublime

For me it's "China Girl", but that's because I lost my virginity to it (well, 10 seconds of it, anyway).

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Life on Mars for me, easily. I remember precisely where I was when I heard it. I was a nipper (about 11ish) and I knew of Bowie (but I wouldn't say a fan, think I was more of a Bucks Fizz kinda guy at the time) but L.O.M. had always passed me by. I was in my mums car coming home from my Grandad's, at the top of Chalsey Road just about to turn on to Hilly Fields and it came on the radio and it knocked me socks off! One of my clearest childhood memories.

It won't go down as a classic to many hardcore fans i guess, but 'Modern Love' never fails to make me smile for no other reason than i love it.
As for his earlier stuff, 'Suffragette City'.

Time to move forward together.

Bewley Brothers. Autobiographical and like Finnigin's Wake you could spend a lifetime analysing it.
